The Rookie Reacts to the Future: Season 1

Summary:

Before they can hit the streets on their first day, the three rookies, their TO's, some higher ups, and some strangers are transported to a theater to watch their futures.

Hi guys, I have wanted to make one of these for a while, and there are literally no reaction fics for this fandom. Please give feedback. This is my first work so please be kind. I will probably leave parts out to avoid copyright issues (nothing major though). Does anyone know if AO3 will remove works with parts of the script in it? (I know a lot of reading the books works have this issue). Bold text is from the show. I am planning to post 1-2 chapters a week (Might change).

Chapter 1: Introductions

Sit down. It's time to play the Training Officer match game. Our contestants are: Lucy Chen, a hotshot who made her first arrest before clocking in for work. Legacy Jackson West, who broke all his dad's records at the Academy. And John Nolan, who was born before disco died. [LAUGHTER] And the winners are: Officer Bradford, you get our hotshot. Officer Lopez, you get our legacy. Leaving Officer Bishop to ride with the 40-year-old rookie. Now, hear me. Today is your first day. Don't let it be your last. Forget the Academy and listen to your T.O.s. They'll teach you the way it should be done. That's it. All right. Be safe out there. Officer Bishop, I need a word with your rook.

The officers start to file out when there is suddenly a blinding light.

"Everyone down!" Grey yells.

When they open their eyes, they are no longer in the station. Instead, they are in a large theater with 3 long sofa's and a huge screen in the front.

John opens his eyes and rubs them, "What just happened?" He exclaims.

A large voice booms overhead. "Welcome everyone! Today you are going to be reacting to your future lives."

Nearly all of the veteran officers reach for their guns, only to discover that they are not there anymore.

"Don't worry, I will not harm you guys and you can't get sick or injured in this room."

"Wait," Lucy frowns, "What do you mean we are reacting to our futures? That isn't possible."

"Now it is. I'll give you guys a moment to settle down"

"Well," starts Grey, "We might as well introduce ourselves. Please state your name and occupation."

"Wade Grey. Watch commander"

"Tim Bradford. TO"

"Angela Lopez. TO"

"Talia Bishop. TO"

"John Nolan. Rookie"

Tim and Grey scoffs at that.

"Jackson West. Rookie"

"Lucy Chen. Rookie"

"Zoe Andersen. Captain"

Everyone straightens up when they realize the captain is here.

"Harper. Undercover Detective. Narcotics"

"Heard about her," Angela whispers to Tim, "She's infiltrated half the cartels in LA."

"Wesley Evers. Defense Attorney"

All three TO's give him a dirty look at that.

Captain Andersen eyes him curiously, He must be important to our futures if he is here.

They all move to the sofa's and take a seat. 

"I will now start the first episode."

 

Seating arrangements:

Frist sofa: Lucy, Jackson, John

Second sofa: The TO's

Third sofa: Grey, Andersen, Wesley, and Nyla
