Rocky taps his claws together anxiously for a few seconds, then seems to come to a decision.
“Fine. We can try. I make safety equipment.”
“Okay, good,” Grace flops back on the bed again, his nervous system overcome with sudden relief. Rocky's not going to cut himself open, and he's not going to die. They’re going to have a nice, casual wrestling session, and Rocky is going to pin him down and thrust into a xenonite container until he comes – or whatever his equivalent is – and then everything is going to be fine.

“Rocky is not biologist,” he shrugs.
“Okay, I get that, but give me your best guess.”
“I…attempt to thrum with Grace,” he says, thoughtfully. “Is part of mating, happen automatically. Thrum means merge consciousness, share thoughts. Thrum with Grace should not work…but did. A little. Sensations from Grace very very very confusing. Brain took time to process.”
“Whoa, really?” Grace almost drops his chopsticks in astonishment. “You got some of my sensory input?”
Rocky does his jazz hands, which is still adorable every single time.
“How? How would that even work?”
“Rocky not know! Is not biologist!”
“Okay, easy, tiger. Calm down.” Grace taps the side of the cup, thinking over what Rocky’s told him about thrumming.
