Mingling

Summary:

His pulse was a little fast, prompting a curious question of whether it was from the environment or because Jungkook's eyes had just caught Yoongi's own. Considering how it had just jumped to double the pace upon scenting the unmistakable glass of blood Yoongi was sipping at, it was probably a mix of both options.
"Min Yoongi? Your vampire friend is Min Yoongi?" Jungkook suddenly hissed (ha, a werewolf, hissing? That was amusing) turning wide eyes Hoseok's way.

Notes:

~ This isn't...underage, per say, but there is a very significant gap in age so I'm gonna put a warning here and their ages. Yoongi and Namjoon are approximately 4000 (Yoongi is a vampire, Joonie a phoenix), Jin is about 4500 and a dragon, Hoseok is around 800, Jimin and Tae somewhere in the 300s and Jungkook is like...50. So he's a baby all things considered, but he's cute.
~ Jimin and Tae aren't really there but they're mentioned.
~ There's some past Sugamon but that was literally over a millennia or two ago so it ain't relevant anymore.
~ A quote from my friend/beta "I'm supposed to be focusing on sugakookie but all I care about is Hobi and the Bois I'm sorry"
~ Based on the above quote, I may have indulged in the NamJinSeok far too much sorrynotsorry rip
~Also my beta said her headcanon was that the fledgling Yoongi stole the drink from is from Seventeen so yeah, Yoongi jacked Mingyu's drink. Poor boy.

Chapter Text

Yoongi let out a deep sigh, filling his lungs with unneeded oxygen as he glanced around the club he had been unwillingly dragged into. The murmurs of a large crowd (with all their pulses rhythmically pounding in his ears) was headache inducing, but at least the thumping beat the DJ provided was soothing to his ancient nerves. There was a crush of bodies, all moving in an organized tangle of grinding hips and wandering hands in tune with the beat. It wasn't his favorite scene, had never been, but he could see the way that people lost themselves in the atmosphere and acknowledge that it was...nice, in a way.

He let out a sudden grunt as his wrist was tugged, sending a scalding glare to his companion and feeling his fangs lengthen instinctively. Not like Hoseok noticed. No, the wizard's attention was where it always was: resting somewhere between Jin and Namjoon, frequently shifting between the dragon and phoenix in their human-like forms. As human as possible, anyway, with Jin snorting out smoke through his nostrils and Namjoon's blond hair flickering occasionally with eternal flames.

Considering Hoseok was more of an earth oriented wizard, Yoongi had yet to figure out why he was attracted to such fire aligned creatures. Hell, that could even include Yoongi himself considering his proclivity to the fire and lighting magick that he collected over the past millennia. Despite his status as a vampire he had as much talent with the natural energies of the world like any other creature that roamed the earth, more in tune than humans but less so than Hoseok. Considering the man's status as a warlock it was understandable, even if it grated on Yoongi's nerves all the shit that Hoseok could do nonchalantly that would leave him exhausted were he to try.

There was another tug at his wrist, causing Yoongi to exasperatedly tug his arm away from the man. "Oi."

"Hmm?" Hoseok turned a distracted eye his way, having to drag it away from Namjoon's plush lips, before seeming to come back to himself. "Ah, hyung-"

"Why am I here?" Yoongi interrupted.

"I want you to meet some friends I made."

The vampire stared dully at Hoseok's heart-shaped grin before turning his attention Namjoon's way. "This was your idea."

The phoenix did that weird trilling sound he always made in the back of his throat, an unrepentant smirk crossing over his visage. "Guilty, but you need to get out more Yoongz."

"Don't call me that." Yoongi sighed, crossing his arms over his chest and withholding a grimace at the squeak of his leather jacket shifting together. It had been a long time since he had worn the thing, but not as long as the skin-tight jeans that was hugging his thighs uncomfortably. A few years of lounging around in his mansion shirtless with only a pair of sweatpants made one unaccustomed to clothing, turns out. Not that Yoongi really cared. He had a good thing going, getting his blood imported by hired workers whilst he locked himself up composing and creating the only thing that made his rotten heart thump - music. He didn't even know the total amount of songs he had made in the past few years, but it had to be somewhere up there in the hundreds. Not all of them were good, per say, but Yoongi had confidence in his composing and would say they were at least decent.

"I think you'll really like Jimin," Hoseok was saying, "he's like me, so you have to love him!"

"Like you? So he's overly bright and annoying?" Yoongi muttered under his breath.

"I heard that. But no, seriously hyung! And Taehyung is a little odd but he's a good kid. He's a wood nymph - Jimin's a water nymph - so they're more nature inclined but you've met a few over the centuries right? You’re such a grandpa, so you probably have."

"If I'm a grandpa what does that make Jin and Namjoon? Wow, Hoseok."

"Hey." The dragon interjected, dark eyes shifting his way, a golden hue swirling unnaturally under his guise. "Stop it."

The vampire grunted in acknowledgment but didn't take back his words, especially since Hoseok was blushing at the the underlying accusation. How long the warlock was going to resist permanently jumping the other two was up in the air, but Yoongi was frankly tired of it. He knew they had been messing around with one another - it was kind of hard to hide the scent of cum all over Hoseok's face from Yoongi's nose, no matter how thoroughly it had been washed away - so once the trio got their shit together Yoongi would be relieved. They had been dancing around their relationship for centuries by this point.

"And I don't know about Jungkook, he's a werewolf, ya know? With all the historical drama between your species I don't know if you'll hate him automatically or what but you shouldn't let the fact that he turns furry get between you two! He's a really nice kid, ya know. He's kind of-"

"Hoseok."

The warlock paused, turning to where Yoongi had stopped in the middle of the crowd, the very aura he was emitting stopping anyone from coming to close and bumping into him. Hoseok winced at the blank face he was presented with, not a hint of emotion anywhere to be seen.

"A werewolf?"

"Yeah, but you see-"

"You didn't tell me you were nervous about Yoongi meeting Jungkookie." Namjoon suddenly interjected, one arm wrapping around Hoseok's shoulders as he leaned down. Even from several feet away Yoongi could feel the heat the phoenix was naturally giving off. He was conflicted about it, considering on one hand he could easily be scorched to death by Namjoon's flames but on the other...well, Namjoon was his longest friend. Yoongi knew how comforting that warmth could be. In all senses of the term.

It had been several millennia, alright? Of course they would fall into bed with one another at least once. Not that it would happen again any time soon, especially with the mating mark Yoongi was aware Jin had bit into the phoenix's collarbone. The duo's scents were intertwined at this point, more a singular entity than two. Knowing what he did about Hoseok that duo would soon become an eternal trio most likely. Yoongi didn't much care one way or another, it wasn't like he had actually bothered to gather another body to warm his bed since the seventeenth century, at least.

"You shouldn't worry about hyung." The term of address was drawled snidely because Namjoon was a little shit sometimes and not even Jin knew who between them was older and the dragon had been around them for a long, long time. Hoseok still thought it was Yoongi. Yoongi didn't feel like digging through his memories in an effort to remember.

"Why not? The Ancient War wasn't that long ago and-"

"Yoongi was one of the first to start the peace treaties." Namjoon divulged because of course he would. The damn parakeet couldn't keep a secret to save his ass.

"He what?" Hoseok gaped, turning wide eyes Yoongi's way. The vampire grimaced in annoyance, turning away from the warlock and plucking a glass full of blood from a fledgling passing by. The young vampire turned to him with a scowl, only to stop short once he caught hold of Yoongi's scent and quickly backpedalled away with a deep bow. Yoongi ignored him, sipping at the B+ and grimacing at the lukewarm substance.

"Did you never question why he never gets punched when he does shit like that?" Jin questioned in amusement.

"I just thought he was a pureblood or something."

"He is."

"What."

"Yoongi's kind of high up in the Vampire Council, though he rarely ever goes to the meetings." Namjoon explained.

"Ancient." Yoongi interjected.

"Ah, right. The Ancient Vampire Council, since we've somehow been around for long enough for him to gain that title." The phoenix acquired a contemplative expression for a moment before turning to his long-time friend. "How old are we anyway?"

Yoongi shrugged. "Few millennia."

"That's not an accurate answer."

"Try digging around in that featherbrain of yours then, moron."

"Fucking rude," Namjoon whispered before turning back to his (most likely) future mate, "but anyway, yeah, Yoongi won't care about Jungkookie."

"Who would care about me?" A quiet voice questioned, gaining four pairs of eyes.

Yoongi blinked curiously, running his tongue over his lips as he drained the remaining blood from his glass and looked at the male that had approached them. Young, really young, but he was tall and fit and smelled like a- ah, this was Jungkook? The boy didn't smell too bad, just some cologne and the ever-present wolf musk that followed every member of his species. Usually it was the scent that bothered Yoongi most of all about werewolves but the boy was fine, actually better than the crush of mingled scents that was assaulting Yoongi's poor nostrils from being inside the club. His pulse was a little fast though, prompting a curious question of whether it was from the environment or because Jungkook's eyes had just caught Yoongi's own. Considering how it had jumped to double the pace upon scenting the unmistakable glass of blood Yoongi was sipping at, it was probably a mix of both options.

"Min Yoongi? Your vampire friend is Min Yoongi?" Jungkook suddenly hissed (ha, a werewolf, hissing? That was amusing) turning wide eyes Hoseok's way.

"You know him?" The warlock questioned. How the man was oblivious to Yoongi's status among the community until now, Yoongi didn't know. It was amusing though, so he didn't much mind even though he had known Hoseok for a good seven hundred years.

"I wrote a paper on him for my history class, of course I know him!"

Well, that gained Yoongi's interest. "A paper? Really? Where'd you get the information to even write one?"

"Well, uh," The werewolf was stuttering now, hunching in on himself despite the fact that he was taller than Yoongi and doing so only brought them more within eye-level, "my textbook?"

Yoongi scowled. "Textbook? I didn't give consent for that, what the fuck? Joonie, did I sign permission for that?"

"How the fuck would I know?"

"You're a nosy little shit that goes through my office."

The phoenix crossed his arms mulishly. "Am not."

Before Yoongi could drop his glass in favor of wrapping his hand around the flaming chicken's throat, Jin spoke up hurriedly.

"Jungkookie! Have you seen Jiminie or Taehyungie?"

Jungkook blinked, having to tear his eyes away from where Yoongi (Min Yoongi, founder of the Ancient War's Peace Treaty and one of the eldest and most powerful vampires still existing in this day and age) was baring his elongated fangs in Namjoon-hyung's direction, his button nose scrunching in a way that was far too cute for such an immortal creature.

It took a moment to even gather an answer, his eyes switching between Jin and Yoongi rapidly before he finally spoke. "Uh, yeah, right. Jimin-hyung texted me, said that..."

Jungkook furrowed his eyebrows, trying to whack his memory into working but he was in the presence of Min fucking Yoongi what was his life- before giving up and pulling out his phone to show Jin the text.

The dragon leant closer, eyebrows slowly rising as he read aloud. “Ya, Kookie, we’re gonna be late because Taetae was brewing this potion that… They use aphrodisiacs? Why?”

“Maybe Taehyungie needs some help getting it up.” Namjoon muttered snidely, yelping at Jin’s elbow jabbing harshly into his side.

“It’s for a project, hyung.” Jungkook informed them before freezing as Hoseok’s arm was suddenly slung across his shoulders, pulling his head down awkwardly as the warlock motioned extravagantly. Yoongi (Min Yoongi, oh man holy shit) was looking at him now, his glass of blood drained and hanging limply from his fingers.

“As I was saying though, this is Jungkookie, and he’s a nice kid. He’s kind of shy though and a major nerd so-”

Hyung -” Jungkook tried to interrupt.

“-don’t be surprised when he embarrases himself, it’s kind of cute actually.”

The werewolf whined, dropping his head into his hands in exasperation. “I hate you.”
