The nurse laid the baby down on Gabriella’s chest and said, “A beautiful Baby girl.”
This was his baby. His angel. Tiny, wrinkled, small strands of light golden brown hair on her head. Her small fists bouncing around in the air with her eyes closed and spit slobbering out of her mouth.
“She’s so perfect. So beautiful. How is she real?” He said in a whisper. He couldn’t stop staring at her.
“Would you like to cut the cord, Dad?” The nurse said.
He couldn’t believe it. He was holding his baby girl.
Or, Buck has a daughter and learns what it’s like to be in love.

Eddie moves back to El Paso to be with Christopher. for a few weeks. In reality it’s 3 whole years as time goes by. Buck is failing without his friend.. his lover. Eddie quickly moves on forgetting about Buck. Making new friends with his new job.
I suck at summaries but this is mostly it :) and we all know Eddie wouldn’t do that to our Bucky. :/

Summary
Lucy encourages Buck to take a short break from the 118 after the lightning strike. He's struggling with keeping up the facade that he's ok, that he's still the same person, when he knows that he both is and isn't the same. His team is supportive enough, understanding that he needs to take a knee or even just a breather from all the craziness that the 118 manages to attract.
Buck manages to get comfortable with himself again, as well as making friends from some of the other stations. He isn't sure about Tommy at first, but they end up having a good flirting back and forth banter. It's not quite the same as it was with Eddie, but it's ... things are good.
Until the freeway collapses.
And Kameron has a baby on his couch.
And his ex-girlfriend writes a book about all the personal conversations they had.
Somehow he still manages to be an amazing firefighter and gets the attention of a Captain who is retiring and decides Buck is the one who should replace him.

“He didn’t come home.” He stutters his way through the sentence, like it’s the scariest thing he’s ever said. Like he’s forcing himself to say it but doesn’t understand why it’s so scary, just that it is. Josh frowns at the screen in response. Tentatively types, possibly abandoned.
Jesus. What the hell is wrong with people these days?
“Who didn’t come home, Theo? Your dad?”
Theo, 5. Child in distress. Possibly abandoned.
The radio crackles with acknowledgment as Theo exhales shakily. It’s wet, like he’s building up all the courage his little body has to offer. “My Buck.”

Or, Theo calls 9-1-1 because Buck doesn't come home after he gets hurt on a shift.
