Summary
There was only one thing Scarecrow wanted to inflict. Fear.
In his head, Dick was grateful he was the one in the hot seat. He always had a harder time watching his loved ones be in pain than taking the pain himself. That face was one of the leading reasons behind almost everything he does. Furthermore, he and Bruce have been testing his level of resistance to Scarecrow's fear gas, and compared to the others- even Bruce- he was the best option for this. Right?

OR: Scarecrow makes a fear toxin specifically for Nightwing, who seems to be immune to his normal batch. And maybe Dick could handle a newer version of the gas... if there wasn't also a device attached to his head that analyzed his thoughts to make him face his greatest fears...
What's worse is that his family, who have basically shut him out since his return from Spyral- from the dead- is there to witness his fall.

Summary
The bathroom door catches, stopping abruptly. When another light push doesn’t budge it open much further, Jason flicks on the light before peeking his head in. Then he stills.
Catherine’s slack limbs sprawl across a dingy bathroom floor, long hair splayed on the yellowed and cracked tiles. Her face imitates a ghostly paleness, lax with dried vomit and stray strands of hair stuck to her lips.
He blinks.
It’s Dick.

"Who. The fuck. Else. Is going to." He gritted, glaring across at him. Dick went quiet, and the basement's darkness seemed to flatten the air around them as they stood in each other's company, slightly awkward.
Dick swallowed, making an aborted gesture over at him. "So what are you a ghostbuster or something?"
"Oh my god," Jason groaned to himself, instantly turning and walking over to the hole leading out, preparing his grapple so he could leave. He did not have time for this.

Having use of the All-Blades means Jason's pretty used to being the most qualified person in Gotham to deal with supernatural issues. Why Dick's randomly started trying to help he has no fucking clue.

Jason slumped forward. “I just... I wanna see my brother again, y'know?” he admitted, dimly noting he was chewing on his thumbnail. “I dunno if he’d still like me, though. I’ve broken, like, a lot of his rules.”
Goldie’s hand returned to his shoulder as the other flashed a few quick signs. I do. He tapped Jason’s chest and flashed another. I’m proud of you.
Jason laughed. It was a wet thing, loud among the empty rooftop. “Well, it’s good you’re not him, right?”
An odd look, something Jason couldn’t name, crossed Goldie’s face for a moment. Then, that hand ran across his shoulders, pulling him into a side hug, as the other rounded up to ruffle his hair.

Weeks, months, hell, a year pass since Dick Grayson's disappearance, and Jason begins to wonder, sitting on that rooftop next a mute, bronze-clad mercenary, and a greasy bag full of Batburger fries, if he'll ever come home.Renegade is stuck living what can only be described to be his worst life, but at least he can check in on his little brother from time to time, even if it breaks his heart that he can't be the big brother Jason seeks.

Summary
Except this time, Sam doesn’t pick up on what starts the fight, too focused on figuring out how to derive the stupid equation. He only looks up when John’s voice rises and his fist swings towards his eldest son’s face.
Sam lets out a shout of disapproval, but it’s either ignored or just not heard, and John’s fist makes contact with the side of Dean’s face in a rather unflattering way. His older brother doesn’t even stumble at the punch, just readjusts so that he doesn’t fall over from the force.
