Just get up and say something. Kris thought. But what would they say? Susie was on a date right now. Why would they ruin her happiness? I can be a bit selfish, right? Kris looked up again at Susie, the sunset illuminating her features. Her hair shiny in the evening light, her golden eyes brighter as the water shined behind her. But in her arms… was Noelle. Not Kris.
It’s not your place. Kris thought glumly. They pressed their face into the table as the new couple continued to giggle and laugh.

When Susie and Noelle become official, Kris closes themselves off to Susie. They just can't control how jealous they are that their crush is with their childhood friend. After Kris and Susie have an argument, Kris unexpectedly leaves for college. Noelle and Susie plan to join Kris in one year. During that time, Kris works on themselves and finds a new home in the city. But when Kris's time is up and Susie and Noelle arrive in the city, Kris isn't so sure they've moved on from Susie completely.

Summary
Susie has a diary. Something she's always kept with her for as long as she could know. It was always easier writing down her feeling instead of talking to people, especially after the world was saved. After the final battle, Susie has had a ton of thoughts about Kris. While writing in her diary one day, Susie frustratedly throws down her pen creating a Dark Fountain. The Fun Gang descends into the depths, and Susie comes to the realization that this Fountain's antagonist is none other than her diary. Unfortunately for Susie, her diary knows all about the person next to Susie and has made it her mission to get the two together.

She must think she’s hurting them, or possibly restricting airflow, because she suddenly tears away. Eyes wild and frantic. “Oh my God, I’m sorry.”
They shake their head, gasping in air. But it’s not because she’d been choking them. It wasn’t like that at all.
“Are you一” Her hands flit in front of them, scared to touch. “You okay?”
“Fine. You didn’t hurt me,” they manage, once proper oxygen is reinstated.
“Oh, okay. You made a sound like you might’ve been dying, so.” She laughs awkwardly, scratching through her thick hair. “Sorry. I’m not too good at this yet.”
“Being gentle?” they ask, half-teasing.
Susie’s gaze drops to the tile. “Having a friend.”
