"Perhaps we could retire early this evening?" he asked, amber eyes imploring Ajax to understand his meaning.
A mischievous grin formed on his lover's face making his dull blue eyes crinkle at the corners. It was obvious he followed Zhongli's train of thought. Especially by the way he licked his lips and looked the former archon up and down.
Ajax chuckled and took a slow bite of his food, dragging out the time it took for him to chew and swallow. An exaggerated hum of pleasure left his lips making Zhongli's skin prickle. He was doing this on purpose.
"Childe," he said with a warning tone.
But the harbinger continued to rile him up further, removing his gloves and reaching across the table to swipe his thumb over Zhongli's bottom lip. He brought the digit to his mouth and licked it clean while mirth danced in his eyes.
"You are playing a dangerous game."
"Am I?" Ajax asked, his voice light. "I thought we were having a nice dinner before leaving for Snezhnaya tomorrow bright and early. Or perhaps you have other plans that will keep me up all night long?"
Zhongli and Childe go to Snezhnaya for the holidays and take advantage of their vacation.

The drink in his hand sloshed over his fingers and Varka laughed again as if it was a source of great amusement and not a display of clumsiness from overindulgence. He downed his glass before he slammed it down on the counter. Flins watched with avid eyes as he brought a hand up to his mouth and with a languid tongue, Varka licked the remnants of fire-water from his calloused fingers.
Yes, Flins thought with a smile of his own, one he hid in the high collar of his cape. One can certainly understand the appeal, Grandmaster.
or, varka has sharp teeth and too sweet a scent when it's not overpowered by guilt. flins has sharper teeth and a hunger to match.

Flins pauses. Varka just folds… like that? None of the other presses have managed to even squeeze a response out of him or the student council. “And what would that be?”
“Just you. And booze. Tonight.”
“I’m sorry?”
“I’m craving beer, and I don’t like drinking alone,” Varka begins, shifting his eyes to the pen and twirling it around his fingers. “Venti’s still hungover, Jean hates drinking anything, and Lisa’s busy with her internship. Nicole and Alice are busy making out with each other, probably. Wouldn’t want to interfere.”
Before Flins can respond, Varka continues. “But just drinking together is boring, isn’t it? Let’s have a drink-off. A bet.”
Or, Flins and Varka are both college students locked in a fearsome booze battle, with quality journalism on the line.
