    Melshi being proud of himself for not speaking his mind was GREAT and also adorable. Cassian being low-key charmed by a drunk Melshi was also wonderful.

    I love the contrast between Cassian checking the herbs he may well have picked himself and Melshi just drinking what's set in front of him.

    This line! He hadn’t wanted to punch Drask, exactly, but he’d needed to stop his words before any more of them could reach Cassian. THIS LINE 💚

    Cassian trying to be sneaky about physical therapy lmao and also dawwww

    Melshi counting every moment with Cassian, oh my heart! All the feelings in his chest whenever Cassian is kind to him!!!! He is soooooo far gone on him, you can feel it it every sentence.

      And of course! Kay and Melshi! I love that they dispensed with pretenses -- because of course they would -- and got down to problem-solving. Both the problem of the Death Star supply lines, but also the problem of their Cassian being GONE and leaving them at loose ends. Excellent interactions.

      I love the moment in "i know i'll land here again" when Cassian imagines Melshi drunk, and I had a lot of fun writing Melshi trying very hard to lock it up under the influence while Cassian finds him quietly delightful and endearing. And you've described exactly the contrast I hoped to capture between Cassian and Melshi's habits with food and drink, so I'm really happy that came through. I was interested in the possibility that even though they've shared one pivotal shaping experience with Narkina, they've also developed different responses to it/to their longer histories of incarceration.

      And ahhhhhh the line you pulled out is one that came to me very late in revision, so it's a delight to hear that it worked for you. This did turn out to be a story where Melshi is pining hard, and I am really glad the feels landed.
