      Hagrid didn't forget, it's just not important to the moment and not something you tell twelve yr olds. He's also focusing on comforting Hermione.

        I would say that the context is *extremely important*...no matter their age...as they currently believe that Snape used that slur out of the blue...and that's not true...
        Even when you comfort something, this just isn't okay...

          It would've derailed the conversation nor is it relevant to the moment. I didn't include it because it wouldn't be about Hermione being called a mudblood it would turn into about Snape. This would be jarring

          Also they don't know it's Snape. They just know a former friend called Lily a mudblood

          And I disagree at 12, Harry doesn't need to know his father was a sexual assaulter. Its not the time for the conversation

            Okay, I can accept your decision...although Harry still needs to know, that the Marauders were bullies, and didn't accept *any boundaries* - be it sexual assault, breaking the law or a clear murder attempt!
