The fight was noisy and messy behind them. Peter had overheard news of an attack tearing up the streets so he snuck out of class and ran all the way here, pulling on the suit as he went. Apparently, some new kid off of the streets of Queens had decided that they needed to leave a mark on the city and just had to do that through the use of some kind of spiky, destructive robots.

“I-” Peter coughed. A glass of water appeared in his hand as if by magic. There was a hand on his shoulder. It didn’t hurt (he wasn’t scared (he was safe (there’s a first time for everything))).
“Peter, what happened?” the voice was small, soft, gentle. It wasn’t like Tony’s voice. It was like someone else was talking through him. It was like he was scared that Peter would float away, disappear, disintegrate if he spoke too loudly.

Peter’s chest deflated and surprisingly so does Flash’s.
He shakes his head.
“Fuck, I’m- Peni- Pete- Parker” He stumbled for a second over his words and then settles for “Parker,”.
Peter keeps looking at him.
“What happened?” Flash blurts out, Peter just stares at him.
“I mean- something happened, you were gone for weeks. After you left that class you basically just dropped off the face of the earth and now you’re back and something definitely happened,”
Peter can’t do much else and just stand there as he rambles on,
“What’s it to you?”
