Rose had been kidnapped, magically split into four pieces, stored in weird glass containers, and he had to fight monsters, literal monsters, after being stabbed multiple times to collect her remains to magically piece her back together according to the word of a strange man that always seemed to be lurking around the corner.
Oh, and did he mention that some weird man who could manipulate metal propositioned him? Somehow that was the weirdest part of his day.

The Sunshot Campaign was not going well. The sects are beginning to lose ground to Wen Ruohan and his undead puppets. In desperation, the honorable Hanguang-Jun was sent to the reported home of the Yiling Patriarch, a rogue cultivator revered by the common people of Yiling and feared by the cultivation world. He was said to be an immortal, a disciple of Baoshan Sanren, and surely the moral and upright Hanguang-Jun could convince him to help.
When Lan Qiren and Lan Xichen failed to hear from him after arriving at the home of the Yiling Dragon, they feared the worst.
