“Mr. Stark…when I came back, and you were waiting on Titan—do you remember what you said?”
“I do.” Tony’s hands on his shoulders get just that much tighter. They don't talk about Titan. “I told you that I loved you, and I was sorry I didn’t say it sooner.”
“And you mean that?” Peter asks. He knows Tony isn’t like other men his age, that he’s accepting and loving and always looking ahead, but there’s a little bit of the fear that comes with telling someone his age about sexuality. “You love me like a son?”
Tony swallows. When he speaks, his voice is thick. “I do, Pete. You’re my kid, plain and simple.”
That thought itself is terrifying, but Peter goes on. “And you would still choose me as your kid, even if…even if I was bi?”

Summary
Being friends with Pepper makes May feel like she has a social life again. It’s fun to have someone to spend time with who is an adult. Pepper helps her process a bad day at work, makes her feel like she isn’t so crazy for her concern about Peter, and is just…there. More than anyone ever has been before. It’s like she’s found a part of herself she hasn’t had since losing Ben.
A partner, she thinks as she and Pepper sit at the compound, munching on popcorn and watching trashy CW television. She's found a partner.
“You know, Potts,” May says aloud. “I think I’m a little bit in love with you.”
Or, May needs to adjust to the fact that she isn't a single parent anymore. Things can only go up from there.

He makes it almost the entire way through the day. Flash is annoying and everyone wants to ask about Tony and Pepper, but Peter has Ned and MJ. MJ silences people with glares and Ned is surprisingly willing to fight anyone who pushes too far, so Peter feels pretty safe.
But Flash always finds the right buttons to push.

Summary
Kissing Peter is better than swinging through Manhattan, sitting atop the Brooklyn Bridge, eating the most delicious food, or spending time with Tony Stark. The boy in his arms, lips moving against his in a leisurely kiss, makes Harley feel so fucking incredible. They’re just kids, but surely, surely, this is true love. The comfort, the sense of wanting to stay forever, the way his mind can only focus on Peter.
Its almost too much.
Its not enough.

“Where others have failed, we have not,” a man says from the screen. He sneers at the camera and paces slowly. “You see, Mr. Stark, the Avengers cannot save the day this time. Your charge, here, one whom you have publicly stated to caring so much for, sits in a jail cell in Venezuela. Your presence in this country, no matter what for, will go against the strict orders you are all currently under to stay out of the country by your precious Accords.”
Tony’s stomach drops.
“If any Avenger were to be found in this territory, it would be seen as an act of war on behalf of the US government.”
Harley jerks at his chains, and Peter makes a strangled noise.
“Five hundred million,” the man says. “Delivered to coordinates that will be sent to you shortly, Mr. Stark. You have twenty-four hours."

Summary
The argument breaks open memories Steve has been trying suppress for a few years. That night, he and Bucky lay in bed together, Steve’s grip almost bone-crushing as he processes the emotions. He remembers seeing Bucky alive, touching him for the first time again, kissing him for the first time again…he remembers the sixth months Bucky was gone and how there was nothing that could make the world better until the Snap was reversed.
Bucky is his life.
He always will be.
So he understands Peter. He encourages Peter. Because Peter needs Harley, or the world will never make sense. It’s clear in Peter’s body language, desperation, and words that he feels, at the very least, a fraction of what Steve feels for Bucky.

Summary
He knows that Peter is about as tired as him. Lots of people talk about how its not easy to be depressed, the toll it takes on your soul and body. Enough people don’t talk about the significant others, though. The slack they pick up, the love they give even when its not being returned how they need, the sacrifices they make to help their partner. Is Harley being selfish? Is he too unhealthy to be in a relationship with Peter, who he depends on too much? He's got the overwhelming need to say “Be with me forever, I promise I’ll spend it being good enough for you…or at least trying.”
But then he thinks about it. Can he do it? Can he be selfish enough to keep Peter forever?
