Summary
Carson runs a set like nobody Greta has ever met.
There’s a measure of playfulness, of equal respect all-around that Greta isn’t used to. The ship sails smoothly, and Carson is the captain.
It’s rare to have a woman photograph her, too. Greta is used to men. Men who come to shoot at all because it’s her, because of her body. Because they’re hungry, and Greta lets them be, because there’s no way she couldn’t.
Even after the first outfit she models, Greta can tell that Carson isn’t like that. She practically waltzes through the space as she gets the angles that she wants, never gets closer to Greta than what feels comfortable – but Carson also never even has to ask if it’s okay. She just seems to know.
(Or, a photographer x model AU set in Los Angeles. The one where Greta wishes people knew she wasn't art, that she was just a woman. And Carson does. Carson has always known.)

Summary
For a moment, Greta leans against the wall, watching Carson. She’s making herself one last drink for the night: something to warm her throat, and her arms flex with every move, her jaw set in concentration. Greta loves seeing Carson at work, no matter what it is. It’s obvious – the moment that Carson notices her. Her eyes go softer, her laugh lines suddenly clearer with the way she looks at Greta. She leans against the counter on her forearms.
“Can I fix you a drink, pretty lady?” she asks, gaze moving over Greta, so tangible it’s almost a touch. Lingering.
(Or, Gretson domestic life once they move in together. A moment after the party -- no longer stolen because they live together and they're out together and life together is the most beautiful thing.)

“I promise I’ll be really nice,” Greta insists, pressing kisses to Carson’s bare shoulder.
“It’s not you I’m worried about,” Carson replies, sighing, like always.
They’ve had this conversation more times than either of them can count, in both of their old apartments when they were young and new, and almost every month since – since they moved in together, since they found a home that has become theirs, with every sacred beginning and ending.
“You don’t have to protect me from everything,” Greta murmurs, sliding her lips against Carson’s pulse.
“But I can try,” Carson tells her. “With what’s mine, I can try.” She pulls Greta into her, hands flat against her back.
Greta melts a little, but she forces herself to press on anyway. “I want to go,” she whispers. “I want to go because it’s you. Because you shouldn’t have to go alone.”
(Or, for better or worse, Greta goes to meet Carson's father.)
