Summary
Years after Belos' defeat and the alliance with the Collector, things have settled into a new normal. Amity and Luz are married and have a young daughter named Azura. Hunter and Willow have also married and have just found out that they are going to become parents!
Hunter looks back on the events leading up to the birth of his and Willow's first child.
Triggered by outside influences which stir fear and doubt within him, Hunter wonders if he is incapable of being a good father given the nature of his own upbringing.
As the pressure builds, Hunter will need to lean on the support of his found family and friends to make it through unsolicited advice, planning a surprise baby shower and the public’s fascination with his past life under Belos in order to protect what is most precious to him.

The basement stairs groaned as the door opened. “What are you two laughing about?” Hunter crept up from behind. His hair was a total mess and his pajama pants were dragging along the floor. He squinted at the paper and his eyebrows shot up.
“Oh great.” Vee grumbled. “Now Hunter’s gonna narc on us.”
“What? No” Hunter grumbled. He grabbed a banana off the kitchen table, casually peeling it before taking a big bite. “I don’t even know what ‘narc’ is.” He explained.
Luz eyed her sister. Then her brother. She drew her hands to her lips and sucked in a long breath. “Okay.” She began. “You know how every time we go into town we need to look at him?”
“Yeeeessssss?” Hunter narrowed his eyes. “Where exactly are you going with this, Luz?”
“We wanna let everyone in Gravesfield know what a tool he was and write it all over the statue!” Vee said quickly.

Four months post Belos' defeat, Hunter has been adopted by Camila Noceda. After working hard to right wrongs and rebuild while Hexside prepares to begin classes at Hexside he finds himself slipping into a deep depression where the constant need to sleep and reoccurring nightmares plague his every moment.
That is until one night the nightmare changes, just slightly -- and Camila, Luz, and Vee -- along with his dearest friends, are able to help him more towards healing and self forgiveness.

Summary
The previous year, Hunter and Vee had an unsettled sibling relationship with Luz. And While Camila was definitely Vee's mom, Hunter was smack in the middle of a custody battle between Camila Noceda and Darius Deamonne, a trial against the most odious members of Belos' Cabinet, and a budding relationship with Willow Park.
Luz had spoken about "Thanksgiving" or "Gluttony Day" as she preferred to call it -- but Hunter hadn't gotten to enjoy the actual "Gluttony" part. Or the "Togetherness" part. Or any of it, really.
But this year, the Noceda Siblings were excited to share this day together.
"You eat yourself silly and lie on your stomach, then you eat more." Luz had explained.
But this was also a holiday built on a fallacy -- much like the ones Belos had built for The Day of Unity. And while Luz is cautiously excited that this will be a year very different from the lonely one after her dad had passed, Vee and Hunter are trying to figure out what it means to them.
Especially when Camila suggests that they invite all their new family from the Demon Realm to celebrate with them. Including Willow's dads whose trust Hunter had been convinced he'd broken.

Summary
The Inner Circle Trials have wrapped and Hunter is finally settling in to home life after adoption into the Noceda household -- but with Hexside still under construction and life going on around him, he's not quite sure what he's SUPPOSED to be doing as he figures out where he fits in to this new life.
When Willow goes away for a week with her dads to help Harvey's mother clean up in the aftermath of the Day of Unity/Collector Debacle she asks Hunter to "hold a date on the calendar" to help her with something when she returns.
Until then, he takes the time to spend with each of his friends (old and new) around Gravesfield and in a post Belos Boiling Isles, as he learns to "fly" on his own without Flapjack's physical presence.
Or -- Hunter has a life changing field trip with various characters that benefits them all.
