Summary
“You…” Fushiguro starts slowly, and the hair on Yuuji’s arm raises at his low tone. “You’re… Sukuna’s vessel.”
Yuuji wonders for a brief second if he’s been the one slapped with the way Fushiguro’s words tunnel into his gut and burn in his throat. He swallows. Even Kugisaki, next to him, has her brows drawn together in confusion.
“What?” Yuuji asks, and his voice is small, even to his own ears. “No, I’m not—” He cuts himself off. He couldn’t say he wasn’t Sukuna’s vessel, right?
“Don’t take another step closer,” Fushiguro warns when Yuuji tries doing exactly that. Yuuji’s feet still. Megumi’s wary gaze doesn’t falter, though, and when he begins to raise shaky hands in a manner very familiar to Yuuji, Yuuji's blood runs cold.
“Wait, wait, no—”
“With this treasure, I summon—”

“...Spiderman?”
Which is how Yuuji Itadori meets Spiderman.
Or, well, it would have been, if Megumi hadn’t immediately shot a web in Yuuji’s face and ran.
…in his defense, Megumi hadn’t been expecting Yuuji to notice him.
The next time Megumi sees him at school, Yuuji’s sporting a bandage across his nose. Megumi opens his mouth to apologize, but snaps it shut as soon as he remembers Yuuji doesn’t know who he is.
“What… happened?” he had asked instead.
Yuuji had frowned. “I don’t think Spiderman likes me very much,” was his only response. Megumi had pressed his lips together and silently finished his lunch.

Summary
“Hark, foul fiend!” is his war cry as he tightens his grip on the sword. “I won’t let you trap the prince any longer—”
“Hey.” A flat voice interrupts his impassioned demand. “Can you stop pointing that thing at my dragon?”
Yuuji’s eyes finally dart to the person on the chair. They’re holding a book in one hand, and their other hand, Yuuji’s stunned to notice, rests lightly on the dragon’s head. It’s only when Yuuji’s gaze travels to his face that he realizes—
“You’re—you’re the prince,” Yuuji breathes out. He blinks. “You’re even prettier than in the paintings!”
The prince looks taken aback at that, his eyes darting to the side as a light dusting of pink covers his cheeks.
“Er, thanks,” he mumbles with a cough. “What are you doing here?”
Yuuji stares at him, then stares at his sword, then stares at the dragon, then stares at the prince. “I’m, uh, saving you.”

Summary
Once would have been random chance, twice would have been coincidence, but when Megumi inexplicably twists away from a casual high five from Itadori—the third such instance of him avoiding Itadori’s touch for no discernible reason in a week—Megumi realizes coincidence is far too kind a word to employ.
He’s not the only one that realizes something’s wrong. Itadori’s face twists, it does every time, when Megumi falters before Itadori’s raised hand, and he quietly drops his hand. Kugisaki stares at the both of them, her own hands still outstretched from where Megumi and Yuuji had individually given her high-fives after a long day of training.
“What’s wrong with you guys?” she asks bluntly, and Megumi winces.
“I’m fine,” he says at the same time as Itadori mumbles out a “nothing.”
They share a quick glance before darting their gazes away from each other again. Kugisaki’s eyes dart between them, clearly unconvinced.

Summary
“Thanks for coming,” Yuuji feels the need to mention again.
Fushiguro frowns. “I’m only here for the discount,” he mutters, pragmatic as ever. Yuuji sighs dramatically.
“Lame,” Yuuji shoots back half-heartedly, but he knows that discount is the only reason Fushiguro’s here, too. “It’s a weird sort of discount, too, isn’t it? The terms were something like…” He scratches his nose, trying to remember. “You had to show up with someone else…?” He shakes his head before patting Fushiguro on the arm. “Thanks for helping me save some money.”
“You don’t have to keep thanking me,” Fushiguro murmurs, the tips of his ears slowly turning red. Yuuji’s grin widens. He opens his mouth to tease the other some more, but before he can, someone behind them clears their throat. When Yuuji looks up, there’s no one in front of them, and he quickly tugs Fushiguro with him to stand in front of the ticket register.
“Err, hello!” he greets. “Two tickets for Human Earthworm 5, please!”
“We’re going to be the only ones in the theater,” Fushiguro murmurs, and Yuuji shrugs.
“More space for us, right?”

“Hey,” he says. “Hey,” he says louder when the other pays him no notice. At that, finally, the stranger looks up, and his eyes are wide when he meets Megumi’s glare. Must be surprised that I caught him in the act, Megumi sneers in his head. “Hands off my dog.”
The other boy—he must be around Megumi’s age, and actually, Megumi’s pretty sure they share at least one class together—blinks again. He does not take his hands off Megumi's dog.
“Is he yours?” the stranger asks, infuriatingly calm even as his hand continues scratching the bottom of Kuro’s chin. “He doesn’t have a collar or anything, though.”
Megumi’s eyebrow twitches. “He doesn’t need one,” he bites out. “Kuro. Come here.”
Kuro doesn’t move. Actually, he looks rather content in his current position. Megumi has the distinct urge to snap someone’s neck. This boy, still staring at him with wide, wide eyes, is a great contender. Before Megumi can give in to his homicidal urges, though, he takes a few steps forward, bats the other boy’s hand away, and picks up Kuro with both hands.

“You’re most dearly welcome. The two of you are soulmates, then, right?” Gojo asks abruptly, and Yuuji watches Fushiguro stiffen.
“Yeah,” Yuuji offers when Fushiguro stays quiet. “I guess so.” He wants to be more excited about the prospect, but something about Fushiguro’s stance and silence make Yuuji nervous.
A strange expression flickers on Gojo’s face, but it’s gone before Yuuji can categorize it. “Hm,” is all he says in an odd tone of voice, before clapping his hands together, his typical grin back in place. “Well, you two have fun, then!”
With that, he’s gone. In the space left behind, Yuuji glances at Fushiguro.
“So. Soulmates?”
Fushiguro looks away. “Actually, I have something to do. Sorry.”
With that, he’s gone. In the space left behind, Yuuji stares at his hands and wonders if Gojo and Fushiguro’s tendencies to disappear in a moment’s instance is genetic.
