Summary
I'm pretty sure the Assembly is holding Bodhi prisoner. It's been four days now since I saw him leave to sleep or eat, not that I'm stalking him. I'm picturing him tied to the throne, tortured by papercuts and condescension.
The "tied to the throne" thing is actually kind of hot.

Summary
Garrick's cousins need some help on the farm in the winter, and he convinces Imogen that she could use a break from Aretia and all the work she does there. She's deeply unsure how to deal with the way this brings out all of the things she's been trying to avoid thinking about, and not feeling well on top of it. Could it possibly be true that some country air and time away is what she needs?

Summary
It's been ten years since the Battle of Basgiath, when the wards fell and were raised again, and when Xaden Riorson killed a venin Sage and died in the attempt, his body lost to the river. The loss hit Sgaeyl hard and she's refused to speak of it since. Violet can understand that; it's hard for her to even think about Xaden, a decade later. But the war against the venin continued, and Violet threw her lot in with the people she had left, joining the mostly-autonomous Tyrrendor under Archduke Durran and the Assembly. For several years it felt like they were fighting the very end of the world as they knew it. Now the war with the venin has come to a swift end, with signs of growing infighting and swift retreats from cities the venin have held for years. Meanwhile, Navarre wants to strengthen the relationship with Tyrrendor, and recently crowned King Halden wants to rekindle his relationship with Violet as a part of that. Maybe she should be celebrating victory and planning a royal wedding, but Violet can't imagine it's that simple. Why would the venin fall apart now, when they were so close to winning? What really happened? And why won't Halden shut up about getting her in that damn dress with the twelve foot train?
