Aziraphale and Crowley share a tender moment with their 2 day old newborn.

Crowley was pretending to be asleep. Aziraphale was quite insistent that he rest, rest, rest. He had, after all, just given birth two days ago. Crowley was exhausted, sore in a dozen places, including his entire bottom and his tits, and utterly in love with his new family. He’d been having a difficult time falling asleep since the birth because he didn’t want to miss a minute with their new baby. He was on just this side of obsessed with Aziraphale’s transformation into fatherhood - a fascinating and beautiful process that he felt honored to watch as it unfolded.
It was very early morning and the sunshine outside was new and tender, casting an easy glow throughout the bedroom. Crowley estimated he had gotten a good 90 solid minutes of sleep since he last nursed - his longest stretch in nearly a day. He’d awoken just now to the sounds of a snuffling baby who was ready to fuss, but was being soothed by the deep baritone of their Papa’s voice.

Summary
Crowley and Aziraphale have settled into a nice life, splitting themselves between the bookshop and their new cottage in the South Downs. They enjoy freedom from worry about interference from Heaven and Hell. After thousands and thousands of years of mutual pining, these two idiots have finally made out and learned how to give themselves absolute pleasure. They spend a lot of time connecting carnally. Crowley takes a new effort out for a spin and within a few weeks, they realize that ALL of Crowley's female-presenting reproductive anatomy is actually in place, leading to two positive lines on a pregnancy test. Lots of sex, lots of domestic fluff, and a bunch of pregnancy shenanigans ensue.

He considered the way the petals of flowers danced in the breeze until his eyes were drawn to the way it lifted a few curly tendrils on Crowley’s head. The same breeze gently kissed the featherlite wisps of strawberry blonde hair peeking from the crook of Crowley’s elbow. Aziraphale smiled at the sight of that tiny redhead resting in his husband’s arms.
“Oh,” his lips whispered as his heart warmed at his thoughts - a year ago, at this window, he was a lover to Crowley. They hadn’t even used the word “boyfriend” publicly yet. Today, he was certainly still a lover to him, but also his husband and a father to their baby. Aziraphale had always been an optimist, but even he hadn’t been able to hopefully envision the life they currently lived.

He found the bright citrine eyes of his husband, shining as if they each held their own sun - the way they always do when he looks at him or at Tartan. He managed a weak smile.
“I…uh…well…ah…I’m sorry, Crowley. I didn’t mean it to - “ he was interrupted.
Crowley’s voice was soft, though still unable to hide its shake. “Angel.” He swallowed. “Angel, I - can you say that again?”
Aziraphale blinked rapidly, the wetness in his eyes beginning to burn against the lids. Fuck. Was he crying because he was happy or afraid? Or because he just fucked up by blurting that out in the middle of a conversation about ? He closed his eyes and took three deep breaths, feeling the demon’s hand now rest atop his own, still twisting over themselves.
He opened his eyes and looked at his husband.

“Daddy!” came the voice from behind the zinnias. “Daddy! Me! Here, Daddy!”
“Oh there you are! I thought that was a bumble bee in my flowers,” Crowley called, setting out plates full of lunch at their respective spots around the table. The late August air was cool and saturated with the scent of rain from last night’s storms and the happy flowers in their cottage garden. The scent of roses and other blooms mingled with the divine smells coming from Crowley’s large herb garden, full of plants he used both for cooking and medicine. Crowley inhaled deeply. Of course, such lovely scents were competing with those of their lunch.
“Not a bee,” laughed Tartan, squealing again as Aziraphale picked them up and hoisted them onto his shoulders.

“I’m sorry, Angel. You're not failing.” Crowley bit his lip and tried to blink tears away. Nothing he said was right. Everything was wrong in this moment.
“I’ve got you, my angel. I’ve got you.” If anything, he would stay by his side and hold him. Previous months of the same results had brought tears. This was the first time anger had taken hold, the first time Aziraphale reacted violently. Crowley was deeply familiar with anger as a form of grief and would help Aziraphale weather it. These moments were difficult and uncomfortable, but they were also where their relationship would shine, proving their love and support for each other. They were strength for one another.
“I hate every moment of this.” Aziraphale began to break, the anger giving way to saddened sobs. He leaned into Crowley before sliding down onto the floor.

Crowley stood there and watched silently, his heart full of starlight. Aziraphale as a father was one of the most wondrous things he had ever witnessed and he was grateful at every minute of every day that this was their life now. Aziraphale was calm, gentle, and confident - even when he put nappies on incorrectly or struggled with the buttons on a babygrow. He eased into his role as a father with a lighthearted, yet fierce and protective, grace that made Crowley fall in love with him every time he looked at him. Or thought of him. Or heard him. Or smelled him. And so on. Eager and encouraging, he offered the perfect support to Crowley all throughout pregnancy and into their new journey as parents. Had they not already been married, Crowley would run over to him now and propose to him.

Aziraphale chuckled. “I don't know that you can spoil me more than you already do each day, my dear husband, but I know I’m in good hands with you both. We are in good hands now.” Aziraphale felt another tear make its journey over the plump skin of his cheek. He was a “we” now. The thought caused him to tremble just a little.
Crowley felt it and hugged him close, dipping his head to rest his chin on Aziraphale's shoulder, keeping their eyes locked in the reflection. “To think I used to avoid being surrounded by angels - excluding my favourite one, of course - and now I have three of them and I am so happy and so, so lucky.”
Aziraphale took a deep breath and exhaled it slowly. "I'm pregnant," he said with wonder sparkling in his voice. "I'm pregnant. I’m pregnant. I’m pregnant. Oh, Crowley, I get to say it.” He looked down at his belly and began to cry. “I’m pregnant.”
Crowley tightened his hug. “You're pregnant, my sweet Angel. You're having my baby.” He felt his eyes burn with tears as he began to cry, too.

Summary
Part of my work for Ineffable Family February. Celebrating week two (belated): the second trimester.
Aziraphale is newly in his second trimester and is blissfully enjoying pregnancy, despite some of the more difficult symptoms. He and Crowley decide it's time to tell their first child, Tartan, about the new baby. They invite Tartan along to Aziraphale's ultrasound appointment with Anathema, co-midwife with Crowley.
Come along for a couple of lazy summer days in the South Downs with this gorgeous family. This little story is filled to the brim with Ineffable Family goodness, domestic fluff, love, and oodles of sweet moments.
