“I’m sorry, Angel. You're not failing.” Crowley bit his lip and tried to blink tears away. Nothing he said was right. Everything was wrong in this moment.
“I’ve got you, my angel. I’ve got you.” If anything, he would stay by his side and hold him. Previous months of the same results had brought tears. This was the first time anger had taken hold, the first time Aziraphale reacted violently. Crowley was deeply familiar with anger as a form of grief and would help Aziraphale weather it. These moments were difficult and uncomfortable, but they were also where their relationship would shine, proving their love and support for each other. They were strength for one another.
“I hate every moment of this.” Aziraphale began to break, the anger giving way to saddened sobs. He leaned into Crowley before sliding down onto the floor.

“This is just gorgeous, Angel. Simply gorgeous.” Crowley still couldn’t believe the sight before his eyes. “It just gets better and better each time we come here.”
“That it is, my dear boy. And it is all yours now. I can’t wait to see how much more beautiful it becomes under your skillful care. I imagine we will make many pleasant memories here.” He took a step closer to Crowley and put an arm around him. “I love how happy this makes you,” he said softly.
Crowley turned to him and smiled. He gave Aziraphale a big silly kiss. “I love how happy you make me, Angel. This is just the cherry on top.”
They stood side by side and surveyed the gardens surrounding their new cottage in the South Downs. They had just signed the papers that morning, making the cottage officially theirs.

Crowley stood there and watched silently, his heart full of starlight. Aziraphale as a father was one of the most wondrous things he had ever witnessed and he was grateful at every minute of every day that this was their life now. Aziraphale was calm, gentle, and confident - even when he put nappies on incorrectly or struggled with the buttons on a babygrow. He eased into his role as a father with a lighthearted, yet fierce and protective, grace that made Crowley fall in love with him every time he looked at him. Or thought of him. Or heard him. Or smelled him. And so on. Eager and encouraging, he offered the perfect support to Crowley all throughout pregnancy and into their new journey as parents. Had they not already been married, Crowley would run over to him now and propose to him.
