Summary
It was quiet that day. His mom was in the kitchen, humming as she cooked. Izuku was in the living room, playing with his blocks. He was building a tower.
And then– the world shifted.
The block in his hand became heavy. Not normal heavy, like it was harder to lift, but wrong heavy. Like it was pulling at his fingers, tugging at his skin, itching to move.
“Mama?” he called. “Why is the blue block heavier?”
From the other room, his mom chuckled. “Sweetie, they all weigh the same.”
But they didn’t.
But then they did.
Izuku began to cry.

Summary
“Applicant 1126. Midoriya Izuku. Fifteen years old. No prior hero training,” Asano said.
Everyone in the boardroom let out a collective breath.
“His internal body temperature dropped to 31℃ during the second simulation. Why didn’t we pull him out? Why didn’t the simulation replicate his hypothermia properly?” Akiyama demanded.
“I tried to pull him out. He ignored the ejection recommendation, and then the third sim didn’t make him use his quirk,” Mori said.
“So you kept him in because his temperature stopped dropping?” Akiyama asked, eyes blazing.
Mori winced.
“The hypothermia not being properly represented was likely my fault—” Asano started.
Kusuriya cut her off. “No, it wasn’t. We all listened the interview. He said he ‘felt cold’ when he used his quirk, not that he literally experienced hypothermia.”
“He likely pushed himself too far because he wasn’t getting the proper signals to his body,” Komatsu said.
Akiyama sighed. “I don’t think so. He did the exact same thing during the CTAT. He’s willing to light himself on fire to keep other people warm.”
“I’ll send him the email for Phase Three. But someone needs to get this kid a therapist.”

Summary
There were a series of truths that made up Hitoshi's life.
First: the world was cruel.
Second: the people around him were cruel, too.
Third: there was nothing he could do to change that.
Fourth: trying to change that always resulted in something going horrifically wrong.
Fifth: that didn't stop him from trying.
So, like any other rational person his age, he ran away from home. What could go wrong?

Summary
"Welcome, students, to another year at Shiketsu. I am Principal Hakuzan. I'd like to personally congratulate the first-years joining us. I'm certain that many of you only saw Shiketsu as a backup to Yuuei, but I hope we can prove worthy of your time."
She paused, surveying the audience. "You were selected after rigorous testing. Not only that, you were shown a side to heroics that is not seen by many. Most would prefer to sweep it under the rug, pretend it doesn't exist– but you stayed. You have chosen Shiketsu back. That in itself is something to be proud of.
"It is my promise to you, my students, that the lessons you take from Shiketsu will serve you for years, even if you choose a different path. Perseverance will lead to strength. Teamwork is paramount. Kindness is everything. That is Shiketsu's model; for what is being a hero, if not to be kind?"

Summary
Contrary to popular opinion, Katsuki was excited about rescue training.
Sure, he wasn't over the moon about it like some of his classmates– he had a bit of a headache pulsing from their endless jabbering on the bus, the nervous energy coming out of them in the form of word vomit while he elected to look out the window– but he was excited.
He knew he was built to be a combat hero. Even if he had a less combat-oriented quirk, he was aware that his bedside manner was probably only matched by evil doctors doing human experimentation.
Still, he wasn't an idiot. All Might had made his debut saving a hundred people at once. If Katsuki had any hope of surpassing him, he'd have to be really good at rescue– and make no mistake, Katsuki was the best. He'd crush this training, and he'd be the best damn rescuer in his class.
So yeah, he was excited.
But that excitement didn't hold a candle to what he felt when shit immediately went sideways.
(After all, he was born to be a combat hero.)
