Summary
Mike's been touching Will, sleeping in the same bed, playing D&D but only the two of them, and calling him beautiful. Will Byers is losing his mind.
Season 5 rewrite (byler, henderhop, steddie) where Will has a gun, Mike becomes a vampire, and the dead are brought back to life to be kissed. Vecna has also decided to play a horrifyingly real game of D&D.
“Hey, look, I’m on my knees, and I’m asking, El, please, I’m asking you, tell me what’s wrong.”
Her fingers are claws, and she stretches them forcefully so they are straight. She will not be upset. There are words she can say to make him stop talking. There are things she can do.
1. Throw him across the room with her mind.
2. Show him Will’s sketch-paper.
3. Ask why Strahd has a boyfriend.
These are all stabby things that will stab Mike. So she says, “I like Dustin. I kissed him, and I like him better.”

Summary
Updated to include a new take on the finale. I did not like Will coming out to a full ass committee, so here, he just comes out to Joyce and Mike. Later, Mike confesses his feelings.
“Have you thought of the consequences?” his dad. He has forgotten what his dad’s voice sounds like, not completely forgotten, that’s insane, but the sound surprises him.
“Consequences of what?” he screeches his chair. “Of what?”
Newspaper on his lap. “This boy. William.”
“Will, Dad. His name is Will.”
“Your lifestyle.”
Mike groans loud, presses his palms into his forehead. “I’m not gay!”
Nance’s tight-lipped smile. “Mike,” she says softly.

In my version, they're not friends. They're more.
Nodding slowly, Wheeler murmurs, “You thought, I was going to ask to be more than friends. I just didn’t think it was a good time,” he’s holding the thermos. Will has just drank out of it, put his mouth on it, and Mike’s forefinger is tracing the open rim. “Not with everything going on with Tammy.”
Will’s lips are parted. “With Tammy?”

Thank the lord and all his devils.” Holds up his hands in surrender. “I’m not throwing any stones. I know what it’s like. I love, love, love playing the hero. I love dying the hero.”
He’s sitting on the hospital bed, scrunching next to Kali. Gestures for El to sit on the bed opposite. “Dude, it does not have to end with you.”

There. He sees the wing a foot away. The demobat flops towards it, as if it’s going to reattach itself. It can’t. It can’t. The damage is done.
Dustin walks through the carnage, slipping a little on the black fluid (he doesn’t call it blood). He’s got to find Steve."

Summary
Will believes he's going to present as an omega, but the signs are there: he's an alpha.
His first rut coincides with a visit from his best friend. Mike is triggered into his first heat.
“I’d do anything for you,” Wheeler says.
Which isn’t an answer, it isn’t really, Mike never really answers any of the questions he’s asked. But, it’s enough. He can’t hold himself together anymore. Will snatches at his belt, fingers slippery, sticks his hand into his pants. Groans. Throws back his head.
Mike’s rubbing his own wrist with his thumb, releasing the scent for Will. He’s pulling at the blankets, pillow, pulling fabric around the two of them. Takes off his too large leather jacket, adds it to the pile. “Can I?” Mike’s voice is different, closer to begging than talking. “Can I, help?”

The man frowns, “Sass, ok.” Pressing his hands together, prayer-position; standing, backing towards the door. “You’re in the body of your good friend, but I dunno, probably won’t last forever, and he’s probably,” makes a spiralling motion with his fingers, “In you. Damn, that sounds bad. Well, shit, see you at school, Wheeler.” Clicks the bedroom door shut, says the last bit with his cheek sandwiched between the doorframe and the door.
Wheeler?
Byers flings back the covers. Yeah, that’s not his body.

“Just because I’ve…” Will searches for the right words.
Mike fills in, “Seen some shit.”
“Yeah, just because I’ve seen some shit, doesn’t mean you haven’t.”
It burbles out of him too fast, “It’s just the shit I’ve seen is you getting hurt.” Now Will’s looking at him with that sheen over his eyes, and concern, so Mike keeps talking, “I’ve thought about it. Like, why noises? And I dunno, I dunno, but I just feel like I’m hurting you-?”
