They stepped into the cooler, brighter lights of the mall hallway. The smell of popcorn from the theater mixed with the general hum of the mall: distant music, shoes on tile, and the occasional announcement over the PA. Everyone was still talking animatedly about their favorite parts of the movie when Libby felt a sudden, sharp impact against her nose.
The group froze, eyes widening, as Libby staggered back slightly. One of the four boys from before—now with dry pants but still looking smug—stood there, fist raised, a cruel smirk plastered across his face.

The routine was something that they’d sort of fallen into, not anything that had been planned out in any sort of meaningful way. But then again…they’d sort of fallen into each other’s lives at the beginning of things, so maybe it’s not that much of a surprise. Regardless, the point is that Sunday nights are officially, unofficially when Dustin and Steve hang out to watch a movie. The point is also that these are not dates, no matter how much Robin teases and Dustin's traitorous heart hopes otherwise.
