Summary
“Come, let me see you.” he motioned for him, “No need to hide.”
“I feel silly.” Shane admitted, and it’s quiet. He opened the door and stepped out, fidgeting with his hands again. “Uh, soft. Small.”
“Well, you’re trying to be like child, yes?” Ilya tried, and Shane took a moment before nodding. “Children are soft and small. That’s normal. They’re silly, too, sometimes. That’s all they’re meant to be.”
“Oh.” Shane ducked his head.
“Don’t worry about anything, okay? Just be soft and silly and small and I’ll take care of rest, yes?”
Or,
Shane Hollander's therapist recommended age regression to him as a way to take a break and unwind. It takes months of research and reassurance from Ilya Rozanov that he would be there for him before he finally agrees to try it out.
Ilya just hopes that this isn't a one-and-done deal, hopes that he will continue to be able to take care of his boy when he needs it.

Summary
“How small are we today, darlin’?”
He uses a playful, faux-southern accent that sounds a bit funny layered with his usual russian one, and it makes Shane smile for a moment before he realizes what he asked.
He frowned, furrowing his eyebrows, “I’m not small.”
Ilya blinked at him, once then twice, before raising his eyebrows. He takes a moment to try to find the right words to say, the right way to react. He speaks in a gentle voice, the one he uses when he’s trying to correct Shane on something without upsetting him, “Baby.”
Or,
Shane Hollander wakes up in babyspace for the first time, and he doesn't even notice he's small until his caregiver points it out to him.
This is a terrifying feeling, but it's hard to stay scared or upset when Ilya was there to take care of him.
