Summary
"Oh, Cuteguuuuuy, come out come out wherever you areeee." He sang, stepping out of the elevator and putting his hands on his hips as he looked around the street.
He waited a few moments for an answer, worry creeping up his spine as he reached for the bow strapped to his back. Surely it was nothing. It had only been 10 minutes since he had last seen his partner, maybe he had gotten impatient and had started the patrol without him. It wasn't exactly in character for him, but there was a chance.
He pressed his right hand to his earpiece, ignoring the quickly rising pace of his heartbeat. "Hotguy to Cuteguy, where'd you go?"
Silence.
"Cuteguy, this isn't funny." He swallowed, eyes scanning the street more carefully now. "This is Layer 1, we don't have time to mess around."
Nothing.
"Grian, please." He whispered, letting some of his desperation sink into his tone. "I don't like this game."

Summary
"Aha!" Scar cheered, returning from his rummaging in the kitchen drawers to hoist a spatula up in the air. "Found it!"
"Where on Earth did you find it?" Grian spluttered, staring at him incredulously. "I've been searching this whole kitchen up and down for—"
"For twenty minutes, yes." Scar grinned. "But you lose. I found it."
Grian narrowed his eyes at him, putting his hands on his hips. "Did you hide it just so that you could flip the pancakes?"
"Maybe." Scar shrugged. "It's my job, you and I both know I'm the better pancake flipper, and we only have one so…"

Summary
Grian felt the migraine forming behind his eyes before the pain set in, a low pressure against the inside of his skull, demanding he look away from the screen and turn off the lights and crawl into bed. But he couldn't listen to it, not yet.
He had a massive project due on Sunday, a project that he had put off for far too long and now was suffering the consequences of. If he didn't get half of it done today, he would have to do all of it tomorrow, and he would be even more stressed than he was now, and his grade would drop, and he would lose his scholarship, and everything would be awful.
Twenty minutes later, he couldn't see.

Summary
He pressed himself further back into the corner, a snarl coming to his lips. The eye creatures never reacted to his shouting, but they did hesitate when he growled. But when the lanky aliens came around the corner, they didn't so much as look at him. Instead, they were focused on what looked like a stretcher, the kind that ambulances used back on Earth.
Sitting atop it, perfectly still, was another human.
Scar felt his heart stop in his chest. It was impossible. There was no way there was another human on the ship. It had to be a trick of some kind, a robot made to look human, or a statue, or something. This was some sort of experiment, a test to see how he would react to seeing something that looked like his own species.
But they looked so lifelike.
-
or, abducted by a rogue group of alien scientists, Scar is nothing more than a test subject. After a year alone, he finally gets a friend. Summary
Some genius had decided to cast Earthquake or something similar, and he had fallen into a sinkhole because of it. The pit wasn't nearly as deep as it had felt as he plummeted. There was a chance, though it was slim, that he could drag himself up the slope and be more visible to the healers above.
The moment he tried to move, he knew there was no way he would make it. His vision whited out as he shifted, trying to bring his good leg beneath him, and he let out a strangled sound as he fought to get control of himself again. As he leaned back against the crumbling wall, the sound of raggedy breathing reached his ears. At first, he thought it was his own. But no, there was another set of breathing. He pushed aside the pain as best as he could, eyes narrowing as he scanned the dim pit, locking on to a figure hunched over on the opposite side of the hole. The soldier he had been fighting against before the ground had caved in.
