Summary

Summary
He waited until Ryland's breath had evened out, quietly relishing the last few moments of contact he felt. Simon gingerly removed the hands from the back of his neck before climbing out of bed. He rummaged through the bags he had brought until he found a worn, thick manilla folder at the back. He scribbled a note on the front for Grace to find when he woke up, leaving a sticky note with ride share information in case he wanted to leave. Simon thought it was best if he left before Ryland realized who he was truly sharing a bed with. Simon couldn't bear the thought of Grace looking at him in fear.
He took one last look at his partner, desperately hoping it wasn't for the last time. The door clicked with a finality behind him, and he left with only the clothes on his back, his keys, and wallet. He had left the room key behind, just in case Ryland felt unsafe with him having access. He set out for Eden, the mid-morning sun blinding him through the windshield.
