“I’m not mad at you,” Max says soothingly, which isn’t– Oscar doesn’t care if he’s mad at him, okay? That doesn’t– that doesn’t make him feel better. It doesn’t.
“You were a bit mean to Lando earlier,” Max muses, sitting back in his chair.
“I know,” Oscar mumbles. “I apologized after. He didn’t deserve that.”
“I know you did,” Max replies. “But it’s starting to become a pattern.”
He turns to face Oscar, even if Oscar won’t look back. “I know what it looks like when someone isn’t regressing,” he says. “It’s fine that you don’t want to ask me, Charles, or even Mark for help, but why haven’t you been regressing at all?”
