Summary
“What did I just see?” he asked quietly.
“W-what do you mean?” Buck asked, gently turning so he could press back into the lockers behind him.
“On your back,” Eddie said. “What happened?”
“My back?”
“Come on, Buck, don’t tell me you have no idea. That looks like it hurt. Let me look at it,” he insisted, taking a step forward. Buck swallowed.
“If you mean the scratch marks, it’s nothing,” Buck told him quickly.
“It’s nothing?”
“Alex likes to get a little rough is all,” he said, trying to smile it off. “It’s really not a big deal.”
“He did that to you?” Eddie asked with widened eyes.

Summary
“Is he...is he gonna die?” he asked, breath still trying to catch up to him. “Is Eddie gonna die?” he asked, vision getting blurry as his eyes filled with tears.
Chim’s own eyes started to tear up at Buck’s current state. “They’re doing everything they can, Buck,” he told him. “He’s in good hands.”
“We got him here real fast,” Hen added, and he felt her hand on his back. “Like Chim said, he’s in good hands. The best.”
“I...I gotta tell Christopher,” Buck said, moving as though he was going to stand up out of the chair, but they held him back.
“Christopher is at school,” Chim told him. “Let’s not give him something to worry about just yet.”
“But he should be here,” Buck said. “He should be here in case something happens and…” He couldn’t finish whatever he was about to say because he felt the future words stabbing him in the chest like a red-hot blade.

Summary
“I think you should go for it,” Hen said to Buck after he finished his turn and went to stand beside her.
“Go for what?”
“Eddie.”
“What?!”
“You got him blushing twice tonight and the alcohol hadn’t even hit him.”
“Really?”
“Really.”

Summary
“Hen!” Buck shouted, seeing her now at the top of the stairs. She quickly headed down toward them. “Is this the first time you’ve fallen?” he asked when he looked back at Eddie, kneeling down in front of him. “Are you dizzy?”
“No it...It just...”
“What’s going on?” Hen asked when she got down to them.
“Eddie’s had a headache for days,” Buck started. “Ibuprofen hasn’t helped. Excessive yawning on top of that, and now...what? Dizzy spell? Did your leg feel weak?” he asked Eddie.
“No, that’s just it,” Eddie replied. “I don’t feel weak. It felt like...like my leg didn’t get the message.”
