Summary
Eight years ago a woman in red caught the eye of a resentful, bitter and abandoned king.
Eight years ago Alastor lost almost everything. His thirst for vengeance moved him near the princess Morningstar and her misguided project, risking the overlord his own afterlife for a chance to get revenge over the King of Hell. He knows he's playing a dangerous game and still have something to lose, something he can't lose. He will do whatever it takes to recover what wasn't destroyed and to exact vengeance over the Devil.

Summary
As the hotel's reconstruction nears its end, Alastor is still missing while the rest of the hotel residents and staff pick up the pieces. While trying to take each day one at a time, it becomes apparent that not everyone has the same hope for tomorrow, even though things are much better than they were six months ago. An early morning conversation leads to some soul-searching and stronger bonds, but also negative strings, as the one person obsessed with being in control of everything realizes how little control he has.
Or, Alastor will fight tooth and nail against getting found familied like a cat running from a bath, and makes it everyone else's problem. Or at least Husk's.

Alastor may finally be free of his chains, but not of the nightmares gifted to him by Vox. No one has ever seen beyond The Radio Demon’s walls, and no one will know what plagues him now. He’ll find a solution by himself - he needs no one’s help.
All Lucifer wanted was a simple hug from his daughter after being trapped and harvested for his energy, yet even the slightest touch from another brings back agony from Vox’s machine. Is there anything or anyone that can heal the touch-starved king from fearing a light caress?

Summary
Once the golden child, Lucifer now spends his days wandering his gilded cage in Heaven, outcast and disgraced by his siblings, with his daughter as his own saving grace. Until Alastor, the King of Hell, makes a demand: send an angel or let Heaven be invaded.
Rather than lose his daughter who is determined to protect their home, Lucifer offers himself in place to keep her safe.
And so, Lucifer leaves for Hell, hand in hand with the King himself.

"Dear Vox," Alastor laughed softly, an ominous undertone on the tip of his tongue, "I don't believe you understand."
Abruptly, the grip on his knife tightened with the trace of a warning on his lips.
"I will be the death of you. I will build you up and break you down as I please. I will stab you in the back and leave you to bleed. I will rip into your mind, your heart, your soul, anything and everything you've ever known, and I won't feel any remorse whatsoever." He leaned in slightly, his voice a soft hiss. "I am the very danger you hide from."
And before he could think about what he was doing, Vincent "Vox" Whittman himself reached up and pressed his hands over Alastor's. Ignoring the warmth of his calloused, bloodstained fingers, he softly tugged the blade closer to his throat, a small smirk concealing the agonizing fear churning in his stomach.
"Well, who ever won it all by playing it safe?"
