Dirk and Harper were well-known around Dutiful Exoneration, as they had ended their partnership with the organization a little under a year ago. Though Celia had been sending assassins after them ever since, they had always managed to evade her grasp, somehow catching on to who was after them every time. You wouldn’t let it happen again, you would complete your mission, and once again prove to everyone why you were Celia’s right hand.
You heard the hum of a car outside with no doubt that it was Celia’s chauffeur, a gruff and quiet man named Carl, with whom you were well acquainted. You slipped a ring on your finger, one that would surely come in handy later, a bottle labeled with an ‘x’ on it into your pocket, and lastly, slipped a gun beneath your clothing, careful to conceal it from view. A last resort, but one that you knew was needed, especially with Eddie and Volt in the vicinity.
