Summary
Beca Mitchell never intended to learn about the Squip. The information was moreso forced upon her. At a party. An A Cappella party. That she didn't really want to go to in the first place.
"Squip" stands for Super Quantum Unit Intel Processor — apparently. It is essentially a supercomputer. A supercomputer packed into a pill that you can swallow, which then supposedly implants into your brain and speaks to you telepathically. According to admittedly not-so-reliable sources, this "Squip" can teach you how to live life to its fullest potential.
Especially in places like high school or university.
It can teach you how to be cool. How to get things you want — whether that be boys, girls, popularity, or careers. It's like having a cheat code — a cheat code for life itself.
Beca Mitchell never intended to learn about the Squip, let alone get one for herself. But sometimes the universe has a funny sense of humour.
And sometimes, that humour can be maliciously cruel.

Beca felt her chest tighten, not with her own anxiety this time, but with empathy. She could see the careful organisation that had existed before—the empty shelves with small labels, the display stands that were now bare, the precision that had been completely undone.
"It's.. pretty bad," Benji said quietly, clearly biting emotions back, but she could hear the strain in his voice. "I've been working on it since six this morning, but every time I think I'm making progress..." He gestured helplessly at the chaos.
Beca nodded. She understood that feeling—when a task felt so overwhelming that every small step forward somehow made the whole thing seem more impossible.
"Okay," she said, slowly stepping into the room and quietly closing the door behind her. "Okay. Let's figure this out."

After a pretty bad storm hits Barden University, Benji's Star Wars collection gets totally wrecked. Saddled with Treblemakers rehearsal, Jesse gets Beca to help him out with organising it all again — allowing the pair to bond under the circumstances.

Standing in the doorway was a short brunette in a pizza place uniform, holding two boxes of pizza, and looking about five seconds away from quitting her job altogether. However, whatever irritation had been on her face immediately morphed into something far more horrified as she took in the absolute carnage in front of her.
Aubrey, wild-eyed, hunched over, dusted in cinnamon like a tragic holiday-themed ghost. Chloe, hands frantically patting down the still-smoking ends of her hair. Stacie, still standing on the couch, looking as if she was about to start reciting some kind of war speech and letting out a final yell before noticing their visitor.
The air was thick with smoke, and napkins were still smoldering on the coffee table.
The delivery girl just... stared.
Then, all at once, chaos resumed.
