Summary
When Captain Edmund Blackadder, Captain Kevin Darling, and Captain William White (an emotionally withdrawn chemical engineer from the Royal Engineers’ gas warfare companies) die in the mud of 1917, they don’t find peace. They instead wake up in the golden grasslands of the Riddermark, stripped of the only war they understand.
Old rivalries collapse fast under the weight of shared survival in a strange land, as well as a suspicious, silver-tongued advisor with too many questions. But as Rohan reels from its own losses and prepares to defend against a looming shadow, the three officers start to realize that this isn’t an escape from the meat grinder they left behind. It’s the birth of a new one, fought with sword and shield instead of gas and barbed wire, but no less merciless for it.
A darkly funny, unflinching look at what happens when the honor-bound heroes of Middle-earth collide with three men who survived a war with no glory left in it at all.

As well as teaching history, Blackadder is eventually assigned to be the homeschool teacher of Class D, which includes notorious students such as Eric Cartman, Ash Ketchum, and Vicky Pollard.
