And most importantly, this had to go a million times better than that cursed night at Ozzie’s. If either of them left this night in tears, Blitz would never forgive himself. He refuses to let his stupidity ever break Stolas’ fragile heart again.
He’s not a fool. He knows if he drops the fucking ball one more time, he might not get another chance at this.
They’ve been so close lately, closer than they ever were before. Sure, a part of Blitz missed the…physical connection they shared before, but it was nothing compared to this. The talking, the cuddling, the cooking and eating together, the constant presence, the hugs. It was all…amazing. Blitz never allowed anyone to get this close to him before, but with Stolas, it just came naturally.

“O-oh! Well…I…” Stolas stutters, voice small, seemingly finding it impossible to find the right words. Blitz doesn’t rush him, figuring the owl’s drunk state was playing a part in his loss for words. “Well, to put it simply…no one had ever…held me before Sinsmas.”
Blitz raises his head from where it was slumped ungracefully on the back of the couch, his brain hardly registering the words as Stolas whispers them into existence. His attention snapped from the television to the bird beside him.
“What?” He manages, squinting.
Or, after a few drinks and vulnerability being a bit more present than usual, Stolas confesses something he wouldn't normally. Blitz makes it his mission to give his birdie the affection he's been deprived of.

Without a word, he would curl up on the cramped couch beside the lanky bird, snuggling in his arms until they both drifted off, Stolas' gentle breath bouncing between Blitz’s horns, his lips grazing the top of the imp's head.In the morning, they wouldn’t talk about it. They didn’t need to.
They had almost lost each other. That pain was something that there were no words for. Even if there were, this was not the time. They would talk about it, they would. Blitz would make sure of it. For now, though, holding each other through the fear was enough.
Or, Blitz has a lot of unresolved issues and feelings after the events of Mastermind and Sinsmas. He's beginning to realize he can't run from them forever, but he doesn't have to face them alone either.

When he’d left his personal wing of the palace this morning, Via had shown all signs of having caught the cold that Loona had brought with her from pre school. He’d nearly not gone at all, but Blitz had assured him that it was alright and that he would handle everything and pleaded with Stolas not to worry his pretty head.
The servant paused in his struggle to balance the amount of paper in his arms, raising his eyes towards Stolas in apparent contemplation, as if he considered how to best word the information requested from him.
”From what I’ve heard, the princesses are doing just fine…” The hesitation in his voice did nothing to ease Stolas’ worries. “The honourable consort however…”
Or: Blitz and Stolas are married and living in the palace, Via and Loona are their little daughters and Blitz, of course, is being a bit of an idiot but they talk about it and all is well in the end again. And that’s pretty much it…
