Summary
After Arthur's explosive eruption at the hearing, DICOMY makes the executive decision to keep him away from his children during the investigation. If he returns to the island, then his children will automatically be taken away. Panicked, stressed, and exhausted, they comply while they think of a better plan. Arthur rents some rooms in the village. Linus promises that he'll handle everything: the children, DICOMY, and the very world.
Unfortunately, this leaves Arthur with nothing but the four walls of his room.

Perhaps it's pathetic, that the highlight of Arthur's day is seeing a particular customer. But he can’t help it. Linus is a beautiful, awkward, kind person, and Arthur has always fallen in love so easily.
Not that he’s in love with Linus. He barely even knows the man. But he’s in something. Infatuation, maybe. A crush.
Arthur is 23 years old, fresh out of university, working a dead-end convenience store job because nowhere else would hire him, and he has a crush on his repeat DICOMY customer who has a preference for cheddar jalapeño bratwurst. Not exactly where he saw himself ending up.
Or, a disruption during Arthur's shift at the convenience store makes him realize there's even more to Linus Baker than he first thought

Arthur is usually comforted by smoke of fire: it rings of identity, of comfort, of belonging. Unfortunately, not every wisp of smoke is the same as any other. A minor accident at the house brutally reminds Arthur of a dark time in his life. Shaken with uncharacteristic panic, Arthur accidentally burns one of his beloved children and flees. Linus, ever the doting partner, helps Arthur through his terror so that he might be able to have a difficult conversation.
