Silver is the only one left behind to destroy everything that remains. But his success is short-lived when the darkness of the east—Mephiles—forces Silver to turn back time.

    Back at eight years old before the apocalypse began, Silver endeavors to stop it from ever occurring in the first place. His first step is to kill Emperor Shadow of the Doom Empire, the one who unleashed Mephiles in the first place. Unfortunately, Silver isn't strong enough to kill Shadow, and he, in turn, can't kill Silver because he's... Shadow's blood?

    It wasn't in Silver's plans to become an imperial prince, but he decides that he can use this. He'll stop the apocalypse, no matter what it takes.

Just as soon as Sonic admits to Shadow that he remembers nothing of their first night together, that is.

    Meanwhile, the Doctor is digging up ancient evils again. The team understands the stakes too late and Sonic is once again separated from them. Shadow and team must recover him once again while dealing with a menagerie of threats, chief of whom seems not to be ancient, but very much modern. Sage, Dr. Robotnik's fully autonomous generalized artificial intelligence agent, is rapidly gaining strength, influence, and complexity. Faced with a foe without a body to destroy, will the team be able to save the planet before it is too late?

    A spin-off story after chapter 43 of "Finding the Reasons to Exist" before the epilogue. It's a slow starting healing journey for a traumatised alien.

    All Eclipse wanted was to have a family, a home and be surrounded by those who needed him and depended on him. Everything he knew and grew up with was taken away from him by his very own brother. He had been created with the specific task to support Shadow, to help him and to guide him towards taking over the galaxy. Losing everything he knew meant that he only had Shadow left.

    Now he was forced to live on this planet among these lower creatures, shifted into a similar form to Shadows and forced to learn the ways of earthlings. Shadow didn't like him but Eclipse would find a way to have Shadow like him. He had to, they were brothers, they had to stick together. And only Eclipse could help Shadow with his memory troubles, as long as Eclipse was needed it was alright.

    This human hive mind they used through those screens was so inefficient though, why couldn't things start when he told them to?

    After Shadow the Hedgehog's victory over Black Doom in White Space, Rouge the Bat attempts to bond with him, knowing he had to say goodbye to Maria again. But the angsty hedgehog ends up driving a wedge between the two of them.

    During the course of the next year, the events of Sonic Forces and Sonic Frontiers take place, with Shadow being scarcely seen or spoken to. For six whole months after Sonic the Hedgehog's victory on the Starfall Islands, nobody had seen or heard from Shadow at all.

    Now, however, the Commander of G.U.N. has called Rouge in to bring Shadow in for an urgent mission: The Black Arms have returned, with a new, mysterious leader, one who could be the greatest threat Shadow or any of them have ever faced.

    While fighting for the sake of the world Maria loved, can Shadow overcome the terrifying power of Eclipse the Darkling, and the new Black Arms under his command? Especially with his heart torn in two?

    The Robotnik Empire, seemingly badly affected by their latest defeat via the demise of Infinite, was surprisingly late to the current conflict. Because of this, Dr Robotnik and the rest seem to be unaware of the Black Arms' return, believing that the Doctor's confrontation with Shadow some time ago was simply Shadow being rogue as they had been assumed to be for the last couple of years. This leaves a perfect opening for the members of the Empire to be distracted from their forces, specifically, one member by the name of Mimic Octa. Mimic, having previously been allies with Whisper before he joined the Empire, has a connection to the wisps that were in her possession, so it's no surprise that when he sees one of the said wisps out his window, and finds a letter seemingly from Whisper inviting him to come retrieve the wisps, he decides to take up the offer. But, of course, ignorance is bliss… until it's not.
