After all, practically everyone likes Finnick. He’s fun, charming, handsome — what is there not to like?
But the truth is, when you get to know Finnick — really get to know him — he’s not always the easiest person to like. Most people in Finnick’s life — they come and go. They get swept up by fun, charming, handsome, life-of-the-party Finnick, then are disappointed when they find themselves dealing with moody, manipulative, clingy, deeply traumatized Finnick. My uncle is the only living Victor in the District; as such, he is one of the few who never goes hungry. But, as I think about the mandatory Game to watch, I'm not envious of him. The Hunger Games is always bloody and horrific.
But even though Haymitch would have plenty to give, my father never asked him for anything. Which Gale knows very well.
'His brother' I correct Gale darkly. Whatever the conflict between my father and my uncle, my Dad considers him a full-fledged brother, even though their father is not shared.
