3. Arknights Draco Semi-SI, (Title Pending). Around 250 years before canon Arknights starts, the factory must grow. and also steampunk landship privateering, probably.
4. Omake for All That Is Golden Does Not Glimmer, by XenoWrites. Halo x Youjo Senki (Catherine Halsey is Tanya Degurechaff. Excellent story, go read it.) - Now has dedicated story.
5. Direwolf of the North - The Old Gods bring Gray Wind back to life to avenge the Starks.
6. Beyond Hulls, Beyond War - First chapter written by a friend aboard a USN nuclear carrier, I dragged him into the world of shipgirls. Now has its own story. by EmbassyClerk.
7. The Jingwei's Peace - Endfield Operator "Arcane" struggles to deal with the relative "peace" after 1.4 Update Story. (Arcane is the best girl, sorry Laevatain). Summary
I read the Halo novels with a pen in my hand. Old habit. The kind of reading where you mark the passages that earn it and put a question in the margin beside the ones that don't. What I found, reading them enough times, was that the questions accumulated in specific places. Not the battles or the technology or the broad shape of the war. The people. The ones who were given just enough presence to suggest an interior life and then returned to their function in the story. The ones whose decisions carried the weight of the narrative without the narrative ever stopping to ask what it cost them to make those decisions.
That accumulation is where this universe came from. Not from wanting to correct the source material — which is, in places, genuinely extraordinary — but from wanting to stay in the margins it left. To take the potential that was always there, buried under the requirements of commercial storytelling, and give it the room it deserved.
