There’s a family fluff going on, with Will finding not only friends, but parent-figures and siblings. Alyss learns to scare people with her eyes from a master at the craft. Cass is intent on changing the world and Horace is of the opinion that simple explanations are nothing to complicate.
Crowley is alternately hero and public enemy number one, depends on who you ask. Halt knows more than everyone thinks. Berrigan writes new versions of songs, and Duncan is integrated with chaos. Beware, paper lords, moats and a few insults await you.

Or, the trip to Maashava and the subsequent imprisonment of the party was more brutal than portrayed originally in Erak’s Ransom. For Halt and Gilan in particular, the trip is less then pleasant and both face doubts and worries about the past and future.
