Summary
In one universe, shortly after the death of Qui-Gon Jinn, Dooku finds himself leaving the Jedi Order. In this universe, Yan finds himself lingering in the Temple slightly longer, delayed in a hallway long enough for Anakin Skywalker to literally run into him. The surprise introduction reminds him that he was not the only one who lost someone so close to him, and that Obi-Wan was just as failed by the Order as he felt he had been. Over tea, they discuss what happened with Qui-Gon's final wishes, and discuss how Anakin's teaching should continue.

Palpatine has finally secured his place in the Republic Senate. When a crisis in Alderaanian space focuses the Senate on the issue of slavery in the Republic, Palpatine seizes the opportunity to make his name as a firebrand and a statesman, and to attempt to bring the Jedi under the direct control of the Office of the Chancellor. Along the way, he insinuates himself into the Valorum caucus, making himself an indispensable ally of an up-and-coming wave of altruistic Senators: Organa, Bel Iblis, and the freshman Senator Mon Mothma.
His political consultant/campaign manager is becoming a problem, however. For some three years now, she's tended his career and asked little of him. Now, Sereine wants something. And a depressed Master Dooku, disciplined by his Order, begins to believe his entire Jedi service may have been for naught.
How do you get a relationship commitment out of a Sith Lord??

Fox and the other Coruscant Guard Commanders all have the same stories of missing memories, of waking klicks from where they were supposed to be injured and alone. Even their resident Jedi Master Quinlan Vos is unable to determine what's going on with his psychometry. It's driving him to take bigger and bigger risks in his quest to help.
Count Dooku of Serenno, Sith Lord and politician, has been seeing things: there's no way the ghosts of the people he's killed are really haunting him...right? He still remembers when Sifo-Dyas first told him what he would become. He was barely a master, then, first finding his footing before accepting his first student. Sifo-Dyas was still traveling with Master Kostana, then, and Dooku was still pretending he wasn’t a bit jealous.
It was an evening, and lovely, and about to be ruined. Sifo looked to him–– never at him–– and said, in his way, “You’re going to be awful, Dooku.”
Dooku couldn’t help but laugh, more taken off guard than anything. He asked him what he meant, thinking it ridiculous. (Always thinking it ridiculous, until it wasn’t.)
