Ace, the son of a single mother in South Blue, has a relatively good life. He has a roof over his head, a good relationship with his mother, and doesn't have to worry about money as much as he should. However, he feels like everything is wrong. he has struggled with his mentality in the past and was recovering after a brief stint at the hospital, but everything was lovely.
Until it wasn't anymore.
As a single mother, Rouge has many secrets that Ace has learned never to question. There was her past, her knowledge of the world and her..... morally grey views. But the void of unanswered questions has swallowed him into a position, tethering between two different worlds.
It probably doesn't help that they're harbouring a pirate.
(a What-if fic of if Roger was never executed by the Marines and spent the last couple of months with Rouge, and Garp never taking in Ace as a result)

"His auntie’s crazy" - the words belong to loving nephew Portgas D Ace, 5 year.
The discovery of such a fact was the epochal meeting of the little less beloved grandfather and Auntie on the Isle of Dawn. Apparently for all five years they managed (or rather Rouge managed) not to cross paths on the island.
The result was: a shattered jungle, a small crater, an emergency evacuation of the aristocrats from the Top Town, and a lot of fires.
And Ace gained another little brother, Sabo.***
Another summary:The situation that prompted this saying was another aunt's unbelievable love affair with her nephews, which also involved a couple of shichibukai, Yonko, ex-lovers from the Marines, and a lot of rum and tears.
Result:a shattered Marinford, damaged Yonko and Marine ships, the resignation of a couple of shichibukai, Aokoji's promotion and another crater on one of the Kalm Belt islands.
Somewhere in the background, Sengoku is cursing monkeys. -

família podia ser feita de muitas coisas: relações de sangue, criação ou convívio. Para Roger, família era tudo isso e mais um pouco, desde os amigos que ele fez em suas aventuras até a tripulação que navegou com ele até o fim e de volta.
Ele amava e se importava com todos, mesmo aqueles que saíram de sua tripulação, e pela felicidade deles faria qualquer coisa, até mesmo destruir o mundo.
E todos eles fariam o mesmo por Roger, mesmo que tivessem que lutar pelo mundo apenas para ter Roger com seu sorriso.
Era apenas obvio que sua família não o deixaria ir tão fácil assim.Series

Family could be made of many things: blood relations, creation, or togetherness. For Roger, family was all of these and then some, from the friends he made on his adventures to the crew that sailed with him to the end and back.
He loved and cared for everyone, even those who left his crew, and for their happiness he would do anything, even destroy the world.
And they would all do the same for Roger, even if they had to fight for the world just to have Roger with his smile.
