There's something in the way that humans can destroy themselves for something they yearn for so physically that is intriguing. If one would sell their soul to the devil for a sense of power, then why wouldn't one sell their body for a love they wished they had? Nothing is incomprehenseable, but everything is far from being understandable. A societal hierarchy of predator and prey is instilled in every bone of a persons being, but a primal sense accompanies it. Mixing the two is the worst combination there ever could be.
