Summary
Meteor Grove, a large but isolated village, surrounded by endless forest is plagued with many misfortunes. Resources, criminals, but worse of all, there is a werewolf crisis. So many children were found dead with their necks nearly bitten off was a monthly occurrence. However, those who survived... well... Truth to be told, no one knew. Fearful of Phinks sharing the same fate as Sarasa; Phinks and Shalnark decided to keep this secret between them. Trying to find a cure while keeping their friends protected in the dark. Shalnark paused, slowly turning over to you. Staring for a long moment before speaking, “You brought bombs?”
You stared back, considering telling him that they were, in fact, just fireworks.
You decided against it, “Something like that.”
“You’re crazier than us sometimes,” Phinks huffed.
Feitan, who had seen you place the fireworks, didn’t correct him. After all, snitches get stitches.

So, they decided to answer a "Roommates Wanted" ad. Wanting to see how long it'd take for either their new roommate to realize they're wanted terrorists, or until one of them gets bored and kills them.
Unexpectedly this fun idea on how to spend a week or two turns out to be a lot longer than just a few weeks.

Summary
With Feitan badly hurt, Phinks deftly kidnaps a healer: you. Your life then becomes forcibly tangled with that of the Phantom Troupe, especially with Feitan's.
The focus is on the relationship between reader and Feitan, but most of the Troupe will be along for the ride. We get to follow them and the troupe from the middle of the Chimera ant arc, until just after the Dark Continent. I will touch on canon events, but most of the story will be 'original' content. Plenty of smut, a fair bit of torture (Fei is the MC after all), and a lot of found family fluff between Troupe members.
'You rest,' he said pointing to the bed, but as you tried to walk past him he held out an arm, trapping you between him and the wall.
Too exhausted to be scared you just looked him in the face, waiting for him to let you pass. This is genuinely a comedic masterpiece. The writing style is so addictive and I love the humour. Especially before Feitan and MC got into a relationship, omg the situations were so funny. There’s so much parts I just adored. MC is so funny as well, she’s such a fan of Feitan and is super into his sadistic side. Whereas, Feitan is scared that he will hurt or scare her away.
This is also my first HxH fic, and can I just say I did not know what anyone looked like or who they are in general, including Chrollo. But omg the way this author writes Chrollo—

This author single-handly made me interested in HxH and introduced Chrollo. Damn, that man’s personality is so my type, and after searching him up, I realise he’s also gorgeous???
I had to stop (but I will come back I swear! Feitan and MC’s relationship is so fragile, sweet, and cute rn), because I unfortunately very much fell for Chrollo… Who is in a love triangle situation with Machi in the centre and Hisoka on the other side lmao. Every time he appears, I think: wow I want this man—just like how MC was at the start lol. I went on a hunt for Chrollo fic because I had to satisfied my new obsession (and forgot to bookmark this).
Some of my favourite quotes that I actually took screenshots of:

Without a single word-without so much as a twitch of his terrifyingly precise fingers-Feitan turned away.
He pivoted back toward the Don with stiff, robotic movements, picked up his knife, and-after a split second of just staring at it like he forgot what it was for-roughly grabbed the Don's wrist.
The Don let out a huff of disbelief. "You cannot be serious." He didn't take his eyes off of Feitan but gestured pointedly in your direction with his chin. "You're really going to focus on me instead of her right now?"

You refused to make eye contact with him.
The Don slowly turned from you to Feitan, back to you, then let out an exasperated sigh so deep it sounded like it came from his soul. "Are you two really just gonna ignore whatever the hell just happened?"
Neither you nor Feitan acknowledged his words.
The Don blinked.
Then snorted.
Then actually let out a genuine chuckle-only to immediately wince, his body tensing as the movement sent fresh pain through his mangled fingers.
'...This might be the most ridiculous shit I've ever seen," he muttered, voice strained but laced with pure disbelief and humor.—I genuinely felt so bad for the Don here, he was so over them flirting(?). He was literally being tortured while MC was getting turned on by Feitan torturing him + Feitan being ??? after realising that MC was super into it. At least the Don was amused? The whole torture scene was like 100% my favourite scene of all time.
I have so many other favourite scenes but I don’t think I should put it all here. Reading this genuinely lit up my days.

It was getting harder for her to remind herself that Chrollo’s mind was like a machine that ran smoothly with oil in the form of cruel logic and expert manipulation. To remind herself that he likely couldn’t care less about who she was as a person and that he only saw her as a useful tool for the Spiders in the future. But she was probably better off without such reminders. Even if it was all some sort of calculated plan to manipulate her, it didn’t matter anymore.
And so, Ayumi allowed herself to close her eyes and lean into his hand, imagining it was her father’s touch instead because she already made her decision.
