Summary
When I was in high school I wrote a historical essay on how universal male suffrage came to England during the prime minister-ships of Disraeli and Gladstone. Part of the reason universal male suffrage actually came to England is because Disraeli and Gladstone were competing so closely for voters and whoever enfranchised the masses would get their vote and be able to win the day. What was going on the in the US and France, which had both faced revolutions that gave more power to the people (at least male white people, that is), were also putting pressure on the government of Great Britain to change things up before they faced public unrest at home.
Anyway, I was reading a lot of Byron, Keats, Shelley, Wordsworth and Coleridge at the time and crafted this weird little poem to submit with my essay.

Summary
A narrated playthrough of Australia in Victoria 2 using the Historical Project Mod. Callously granted autonomy by Great Britain in 1836 to serve as a privileged destination for political undesirables from the monarchies of Europe, this AAR follows Australia through its impoverished youth and faltering attempts at industrialization until it is finally able to stand on its own and seek to punish its ex-colonial overlord through achieving the obsession of every Australian nationalist: the annexation of New Zealand.
Written sometime in early 2019.

Summary

The lives lived on the surface are not always the lives that matter most. Even when your surface life involves being Prime Minister.
