“Abashed the Devil stood, and felt how awful goodness is, and saw virtue in her shape how lovely: saw, and pined his loss."
-John Milton, 'Paradise Lost'In September of 1942, Tom Riddle is a brilliant, bitter schoolboy on the precipice of becoming a monster. Already wearing his first Horcrux around his finger, he doesn’t plan to let anything halt his ascent towards realizing his ultimate goal: becoming the greatest Dark Lord the world has ever seen.
But when a powerful and mysterious transfer student arrives at Hogwarts, Tom’s initial spark of interest rapidly ignites into an all-consuming obsession, threatening to unravel his carefully laid plans.
When ambition and pride run up against regret and repentance, what will be the outcome? Is there such thing as a soul too mutilated to save?
