Oh, how you wished you could oh-so suddenly wake up within the game. A place to start a new life, one where you wouldn't have to face your real life struggles, and not to mention meeting the characters you loved... But that's just an absurd dream to keep hidden inside a drawer somewhere.
And it sure was absurd, but alas, it wasn't a dream anymore.
or: you isekai into the tfc story as a separate character from the player entity. the story now depends on your free will, but you decide not to draw too much attention. despite that, dynamics change, things get layered, and unexpected things happen...

You got isekai’d into a horror dating sim called ‘The Freak Circus.’
Unfortunately, it’s a month before the plot starts, you’re only an NPC, and something’s clearly gone wrong already. The circus is laying low, the timeline’s off, and the key moment that’s supposed to kick everything into motion isn’t going to happen unless you fix it.
So you do what any reasonable person would do - fake injuries, show up uninvited, and get just involved enough to push things along without getting eaten.
It works.

You are a monster living amongst humans, although after a still on-going months long bout of depression you find yourself living in filth. It doesn't help that your job doesn't pay you enough to live alone, so you share a cramped apartment with probably the worst roommate known to man. Your shapeshifting capabilities are the only thing keeping you safe right now. You are tired. You are lost. You are very, very hungry.
In a fit of desperation you try to snag an easy catch within the new circus that's arrived in town; surely no one would miss one person missing from such a massive crowd? Especially with the rumours already circulating the establishment and its performers. It was the perfect plan. But your hunger made you sloppy, you didn't notice that this pink ticket holder had already been marked...you were stealing food from forces much stronger than you.
