Summary
Ranma faces his toughest opponent, Saffron, but circumstances are far different from what they’re supposed to be. Saffron has been killed. But Akane never wakes up, instead turning to ashes in Ranma’s arms.
Akane’s death changes Ranma, and all of Nerima. Having failed to protect his fiancée, he has given up martial arts out of grief. Not to mention that the latest attack from Ryoga has started to make him question who he is. And the matter of honor persists, ending in a new fiancée that he would never have expected…

Summary
Akane had never seen a cat that was pink before. Akane, gently trying to remove the cat from the thorns, hoped it wasn't blood stains, and luckily it wasn't. The poor thing was small and shivering though, and there were clearly scars under that supernaturally pink, dirty fur. No collar either… Scared eyes as blue as clear skies looked up at Akane as she held it gently.
-------------Ranma gains an extra layer to his curse the first time around, having to grapple with fear and frequently boiling water. Akane doesn't think that's good for him.
