Summary
He would make a better world. They had no one else but each other even if his creator was prone to slipping away to the mortal realm. He would create a world so beautiful that his lord would never want to run off to the humans. He would be together as they were meant to be. Come what may. That was his purpose. A dream come true.
Moments from this idea I have in my head about what it would be like if the roles were reversed, but maybe not how you'd think. What if this is all just a prequel to the story that we already know?

Summary
Grace had survived space.
He'd survived The Hail Mary project, an alien planet, becoming friends with an alien from said planet, fished Simon up from a blood ocean, and the small matter of saving the world. After all that, settling down on Erid should have been the easy part.
And for a while, it was.
Rocky was home. Erid was peaceful. Simon was healing. Grace had a routine, a job, a quiet house, and something dangerously close to happiness.
Then Simon started staring at him.
Not normal staring.
The kind of staring that makes Grace wonder if he's done something wrong. If Simon is angry with him. If he's accidentally offended him. Or if he's about to become the first human casualty on Erid. The problem is that Grace has grown head over heels for Simon, and does not want to ruin anything between them.
Which makes it especially unfortunate that Simon has recently started acting like the world's politest horror movie villain.
Grace had survived space.
Surely he can survive one weird roommate.
Probably.
