Rooster gets a last minute invitation to a wedding on a beach in Oregon. With no plus ones to bring, he goes alone, and he encounters a surprise guest who also doesn't have a plus one. Complacency turns into boredom, which turns into longing and desperation.
This is a note to pack out what you pack in to a beach bonfire, or else someone might step on broken glass bottle and start a whole cascade of events that lead to an intimately shared new years eve and a revelation of feelings.
