Summary
Krypton was a vast and prosperous land. For centuries, it kindly provided for its people who shared its riches with the rest of the provinces.
It was said that Krypton was once blessed by the gods. That they saw such a tender land that it needed to be guarded by someone more than human. And so, the Kryptonians were put there to guard the land and its gifts.
While provided with the strength of over a thousand men, the ability to soar the sky and other wonderful skills, the powerful Kryptonians were still susceptible to the temptations of the common men.
Greed was an easy thing to succumb to when one was an all powerful being. Wars were fought and thousands were lost. Throughout years of ruin, what was once a blessing was turned into a curse which faded throughout the years.
Eventually, they were able to find peace again and Krypton was allowed to heal. Or so they thought.
The thing about history is that it is always written by the winner.

Summary
In a dystopian future, the totalitarian nation of Panem is divided into 12 districts and the Capitol. Each year two young representatives from each district are selected by lottery to participate in The Hunger Games. Part entertainment, part brutal retribution for a past rebellion, the televised games are broadcasted throughout Panem. The 24 participants are forced to eliminate their competitors while the citizens of Panem are required to watch.
In a surprising turn of events, Bruce Wayne ends up volunteering to be one of the two who represent District 12. He and his counterpart, Clark Kent, are pitted against bigger, stronger representatives, some of whom have trained for this their whole lives.

Dean grabbed the joint and stubbed it out on the ratty bedside table and grabbed a handful of Castiel's shirt and pulled him up, and slammed his mouth against Castiel's, their lips colliding in a mixture of anger and longing, fueling the intensity of the kiss. Castiel's hands instinctively gripped Dean's shoulders, pulling him closer, their bodies pressed together in a fiery embrace.
Dean's hand violently twisted in Castiel's hair, pulling his head back so he could look the former angel in the eye. "Does it feel like this with all your others? Do they make you feel this alive?" -

Unbelievable. Sammy actually has a date for once, and Dean is left alone and bored in their motel. He hates being alone because it makes him worry more about Castiel up in Heaven fighting his civil war. As he gets sucked into watching documentaries about love in the American Civil War (hey, he's not just the brawn in the family), he realizes that most of his prayers sound just like wartime love letters. Castiel hears him praying again and shows up wounded in the motel room. Will they manage to admit how they feel before the angel has to go back to the front?

Summary
Dean Winchester has been alone for a long, long time.
When he and Castiel happen to find each other - a couple of survivors in a world that’s been all but wiped clean - Dean’s looking for his brother; Castiel is looking for something to look for. They stick together, because neither of them much wants to be alone. They hate each other at first, of course. Dean hates Castiel for being weird and quiet and ironic and antagonistic and proud. Castiel hates Dean for being blunt and reckless and coarse, for drinking, for refusing to talk about how he feels and just pretending everything is fine. Most of all, they hate themselves and each other just for being alive. What right do they have to be alive? No one else seems to be.
But against his own will, Dean starts to notice things about Castiel that he likes. Starts to hope that Castiel might like him, too. And together, they start to fight for a world where they're both alive - and that's a good thing.
