Zoro watched Sanji, clearly far too drunk for his own good, stare right back at Zoro. “There's no fucking way you'd win,” he said, pointing an accusatory finger at Zoro. “You'd probably vomit before we even held hands.”
It's either that Sanji was a fucking idiot, or that he's actually, in some incredibly convoluted and roundabout way, coming on to Zoro. He could work with both. "Alright. Fucking bet."

We don’t like each other, we fight all the time and argue over every single thing we can. Except that, apparently, I do kinda like him. So, yeah. I’m fucked.”
During their journey to Alubarna, Ace lends Sanji a helping hand (in different ways), Zoro is weirdly pissed off and Sanji faces unexpected feelings and impulses. Once they get there, the cook looks for some peace of mind in the only place he knows he might find some, much to his despair.

Sanji purposefully blows a mouthful of smoke toward Zoro, who wrinkles his nose. “Tell me, moss head, how long has it been since you’ve gone a day without drinking?”
Zoro ponders this, then shrugs again. “I dunno.”
“See? You can’t even remember.”
“All right, cook, I have an idea,” Zoro says. “Let’s see who can go the longest without giving in? Starting tomorrow, I won’t drink, and you won’t smoke.”
Sanji laughs and taps ash on the railing. “That’s ridiculous.”
The moonlight reflects off Zoro’s teeth as he smiles. “Too scared you’ll lose?”
“No, I just don’t see the point. What’s in it for the winner?”
Zoro continues smiling. “Winning, obviously. Or not losing, I guess.” He sips his sake. “I know you, cook. That should be enough.”

He heard the Marine as he dug into another pocket, shifting forward to hold a lighter near the bars, not yet lit.
“The Straw Hats,” He pressed, bartering with the run of the flint, “where are they?”
Sanji slid his heel along the cell floor and caught it alight; not unlike the draw of a match. He dipped his chin and met the flames halfway along his shin, a satisfied sigh falling out at the first draw of smoke.
The Marine froze awkwardly, his hand lowering slowly and his cheeks flushing with anger.
“I’ll never tell you shit,” Sanji smirked, running a hand leisurely through his tangled locks, “But thanks for the cigarette.”

Summary
All of Sanji's hopeless romanticism stems from the chivalry that Zeff drilled into him over the years. According to Zeff, ladies are to be wined, dined, and their wishes never to be declined. Sanji was a star pupil in that regard.
Even when he experiences rejection after rejection, Sanji isn't bothered — women don't owe him that. His respect is a gift, not a conditional exchange for romantic or sexual favors. But. Well. That doesn't change the fact that Sanji has never been kissed.
Not that he minds! Or is embarrassed in the slightest. It doesn't bother him, really — the topic doesn't surface much with his crew anyway. So Sanji really didn't think much of it. Wouldn't have thought much of it, truthfully.
Except.
Fucking Roronoa Zoro.

“What?” He grunts, crossing his arms over his chest.
“What is your problem with Sanji?” She hisses lowly.
He shrugs but keeps silent. He was hoping it would take her longer to notice that there indeed was a problem. Honestly, he thought he’d have a few more days at least. But she’s quick and sharp and nothing escapes her eye.
“Nothing, he’s just annoying.” He settles on saying and it’s true, she can’t deny it and he sees the protest forming on her lips. “He’s annoying.” He repeats, trying to urge her to drop the subject but she seems to instead read something in his inflection because her eyes widen and her mouth rounds.
“Oh, Zoro.” The shock quickly morphs into a sly grin that he doesn’t like one bit – her eyes are sparkling.aka Zoro has a lot of pent up emotions about Sanji and how annoying he is.

Zoro assumed with how adventurous Sanji was that the fox had at least seen one fireworks show in his life. They had gone from adventure to adventure just the two of them for ages, so when there was a cause for celebration in a new tiny town with a fireworks show to be had it was a no-brainer to drag the kitsune to see it.

“Zoro,” Sanji called out, his voice dry and croaking. Zoro had been standing some ways off on the beach with arms folded, and had started half-jogging once Usopp started yelling, likely assuming it to be his usual exaggeration, but after hearing Sanji’s voice he was bounding across the beach, kicking sand behind him in great bursts. ... Sanji’s head lolled on his shoulders enough to catch the closest expression Zoro had ever made to fear. Ooh, he must really look like a wreck. This was the right choice.
Usopp and Brook were speaking over each other in hysterics and Zoro was reaching out to help shoulder some of Sanji’s dead weight - Sanji took a deep, shaky breath and summoned the last of his strength to drag his arm from around Brook’s shoulder and throw it around Zoro’s instead, collapsing against his chest. All four men fell silent.
“Zoro- please-” Sanji rasped, and he saw Zoro’s good eye widen, his lips barely parted- “I need you, Zoro.”
And he gripped both sides of his head to drag him into the sloppiest kiss of his life before promptly blacking out.- Language:
