To save his world and his people, Solas must join Evelyn ‘Inquisitor’ Trevelyan’s excavation of Solasan, the Temple of Pride. His own temple where his foci awaits his return. There is only one problem. As an elf without a past, his CV is blank. Trapped within a world filled with Tranquils, he must use his wits and depleted magic to ensure his position as the team’s translator and elven magic expert.
Evelyn, in search of the mythical Heart of the Dread Wolf, finds herself forced to accept him onto her team. Given that an enemy from the past is in search of the same object said to contain the might of the God of Lies, Treachery and Rebellion himself, Evelyn finds herself questioning whether Solas is friend or foe.
With agents of Venatori Inc. on the hunt for the artifact inside the temple and their lives on the line, Evelyn and Solas are forced to work together. Having to trust each other, the one thing Solas cannot allow begins to occur. He falls for her.

When Rook is twelve, a seer predicts their future. They are to meet a powerful man whom they and complete. Destined to be together forever, the prediction warns Rook not to fight the event that destiny will throw at them.
Years later, Rook identifies the 'powerful man' as Solas. Convinced that they can change his mind about the Veil, Rook isn't worried about the prediction until it's too late.

What follows instead are Solas' attempts at withholding the answers to Rook's questions. Attempts that might just succeed.

Solas, he had named himself, blinking in the harsh light with two eyes that saw so much less than he had seen as a spirit, as the shining stone had shaken and he had felt the beginning tremors that sowed the seeds of destruction. He had made himself a man, in his pride, in his confidence and arrogance had felt that he could be a better man than Elgar’nan. He had wanted to touch the world with gentle hands, formed to create, rather than to crush, and it was his hands that had formed first, reaching from the shining stone for Mythal’s own, and she had helped to pull him forth into a world too bright and yet too dull.
He was minded suddenly of the desperate clutch of his own new hand as yet tender and un-calloused in Mythal’s rougher one, flailing blindly for some purchase to the familiar in his new body, remembered the aching loneliness of the absence of that touch when he had woken from uthenera.
“Ir abelas,” he murmured, as he squeezed the hand back gently. This survivor had been the first one to touch him since he had woken and perhaps he felt some small bit of comfort of his own at this clinging touch that seemed to trust him to help.

Summary
The utter classic 1999 film The Mummy reimagined: Wise-cracking, gun-slinging adventurer Eleanor 'Nell' Lavellan leads librarian/Evanurist Dr Solas Raine and his loveable lout brother Felassan to the Black City, rumoured to be where God-King Elgar'nan hoarded the wealth of the ancient Elvhenan empire. Dr Raine puts little stock in the whisperings of the place being protected by an evil undead, and it seems it might be up to Nell to ensure they all make it out of this alive.
This piece uses a custom workskin just to give it some fun flair, but please feel free to turn it off using the 'Hide Creators Style' button on the top toolbar.
