Summary
The request was simple, routine. The kind of thing Dennis would have done without hesitation any other day. Anything to make Robby’s day a little easier, anything to earn one of those soft smiles or the quiet “thanks, sweetheart” he usually got in return. He liked being useful to Robby, liked being good for him. But the thought that had been circling in his head for days finally landed with perfect clarity. Maybe Robby just needed a push. Maybe the only way to make the man stop handling him like he was delicate was to stop being soft himself. If Dennis kept being sweet and obedient, Robby would keep being careful.
So Dennis forced the instinctive urge to help back down, swallowed his instinct to obey, and kept his hands busy in the drawer like he was looking for something important. He didn’t even look up. “No.”
Or, Dennis is tired of Robby being so sweet and gentle with him, so he decides to put the attending's patience for him to the test.

“What do you mean Dennis? You are good for us.” Robby said, astonished.
“I don’t help out enough here. I need to pull my weight or you guys will forget me again. I don’t want you to forget me.” Dennis cried out. “Please don’t forget me,” he sobbed.
OR
Jack and Robby accidentally mix the days up. Dennis will do anything to prove he is worthy of their love.
